Britain's Got Talent viewers have called for the ITV show to be cancelled after Norwegian comedian Viggo Venn was crowned the winner in Sunday's final.

Dancer Lilliana Clifton, 13, and 14-year-old magician Cillian O'Connor placed in second and third respectively - but missed out on the title and the £250,000 prize pot.

After dancing to Daft Punk 's One More Time in a hi-vis jacket for his final performance, boos were heard from the studio audience when hosts Ant and Dec announced the comedian as the winner.

Some viewers included the hashtag #CancelBGT as they took to Twitter to criticise the results of the public vote.

Norwegian comedian Viggo Venn, who 'captured the heart of the nation' with his high-vis inspired routines, has been crowned the winner of Britain's Got Talent 2023.

The clown and comedian scooped the £250,000 prize, as well as a spot on the bill at the Royal Variety Performance after his live grand final performance on the ITV talent show.

He had the judges in fits of laughter when he forced Simon Cowell to wear a matching high-vis jacket as rose petals were thrown over the pair before the whole audience erupted into high-vis.

The audience were in raptures after the performance, chanting: 'One more time', in reference to his first audition on the show where he danced to Daft Punk's hit.

Judge Alesha Dixon said: 'You've captivated the nation, they love you,' while Bruno Tonioli said: 'I think your physical comedy is world-class, you have created one of the most memorable characters since Mr Bean.'

Cowell said: 'At least you didn't make me look stupid tonight. I have never ever met an act like you in my life, I will admit it, I really really love you now.'

When host Declan Donnelly asked why so many high-vis jackets, Venn said: 'I wear so many high-vis because it's really cold in Norway.'

After winning the show, Dec asked how he felt to have 'captured the heart of the nation', to which he said: 'Not just the heart of Britain, but the heart of Simon.'

However, while many took to social media to praise Viggo for his win, some criticised him online, while the live studio audience booed him on the show after dancer Lilliana Clifton, 13, and 14-year-old magician Cillian O'Connor placed in second and third respectively.

Susan Boyle made a surprise appearance during the Britain's Got Talent final, singing her 2009 audition song I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables with the cast of the West End production.

The 62-year-old also joined the cast in performing a rendition of Do You Hear The People Sing?

After the performance, she said: 'It feels great (to be here). It's extra special for me, last April I suffered a minor stroke and I fought to be back on stage and I have done it.'

Judge Simon said: 'Susan, we owe you so much, I knew you weren't well but if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back, it wouldn't be the same without you.'

Malakai Bayoh, who was judge Simon Cowell's golden buzzer choice, wowed with a spectacular performance.

The 14-year-old singer from London, donning a glittering jacket and Nike Dunk trainers, had judge Bruno Tonioli in tears following the end of his performance.

'That is the ultimate Italian anthem, I am crying again. That crystal clear note at the end, I think you killed me,' Bruno said.

Amanda said: 'You absolutely pierced my heart,' while Simon said: 'I really am bursting with pride right now.

'That was a big big song to deliver. It was absolutely beautiful from start to finish.'

Dancer Musa Motha wowed the judges with a contemporary routine to Find Me by Sigma in the grand final.

The 27-year-old amputee said his ultimate dream was motivating fellow amputees to dance, and he wanted to show people that 'nothing is impossible'.

After his performance, Alesha said: 'You literally take my breath away, you make us feel like we can do anything, so for that thank you.'

Meanwhile Simon said: 'You've got me in pieces now. From the minute we met you and you told us your story we all knew we had met someone truly special and every performance I believe has got better and better.

'I'm rarely speechless but you've left me speechless, you have my respect and admiration.'

Bruno said: 'It was like watching a bird flying at times, totally free. You have star quality, you held the focus, we could not take our eyes off you.'

Simon Cowell shockingly lost his voice during Britain's Got Talent's live final on Sunday as fans urged him to 'drink' water.

The music mogul, 63, could be seen coughing and spluttering as he pointed at his throat, throwing the show into chaos.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 47, were forced to quickly move on after the former X Factor boss was unable to give singer Amy Lou his feedback.

Following the new mum's beautiful rendition of Reflection by Christina Aguilera the hosts turned to hear the judge's feedback. 

Only for Simon to stand up and point at the throat, unable to speak with Amanda Holden, 52, quickly intervening saying: 'He's got something stuck in his throat!'

Lilliana Clifton commanded the Britain's Got Talent stage with her emotional and dramatic dance routine to Eurovision winner Loreen's Tattoo.

The 13-year-old schoolgirl was described as a 'dancing queen' by Bruno, who added: 'The torment of emotion, that is the power of dance, it touches you in the gut, mind blown by this.'

Fellow judge Simon said: 'To get this good this has taken hours and hours, your creativity, imagination, your choice of music, your focus.

'I'm going to be honest with you, I always knew you were good, I didn't know you were this good. There could be some real surprises on the show tonight and this for me is one of them.'

Irish school boy Cillian O'Connor wowed the judges with an impressive magic routine which saw co-host Anthony McPartlin disappear.

After the performance, Declan Donnelly said: 'I need to know how to do that.'

Judge Simon said to the 14-year-old from County Meath: 'I just think you've obviously got magical powers and I believe in that.'

Meanwhile, Bruno Tonioli described him as "the embodiment of magic" and Alesha Dixon said: "You had us in the palm of your hands."

She may have received hundreds of Ofcom complaints over her racy wardrobe choices in past Britain's Got Talent series, but that hasn't stopped Amanda Holden.

The 52-year-old sent temperatures soaring in a strapless sequinned mini-dress for Sunday's live grand final.

The silver frock hugged every inch of her jaw-dropping figure and boasted a fitted bodice along with a balloon skirt.

Amanda's strapless number was embellished with sequins and beaded trim and she completed the look with clear perspex jewellery. 

Sporting a glamorous palette of make-up she wore her blond tresses in loose waves and slipped her feet into sliver heels.

Married couple Sophia Carmen and Maksym Korbun, from Duo Odyssey, performed a contemporary aerial dance routine to Wicked Game by Chris Isaak during the final.

The dancers, aged 27 and 33 respectively - who dream of touring their show globally, told judge Simon: 'Every time we do this we risk our lives,' after he asked what was special about their routine.

Speaking about their performance, which ended with a mid-air kiss, Amanda said: 'The drama and the production and the chemistry was utterly stunning.'

Meanwhile, Alesha said she went into a trance watching the pair, describing it as a 'real love story'.

South Wales' Travis George had the Britain's Got Talent audience and judges on their feet after a powerful rendition of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman.

After his performance, the 22-year-old said: 'As a person who struggles with anxiety and came from nothing, to be in the finals of Britain's Got Talent, thank you to everyone who made this the beautiful experience that it is.'

Simon said: 'You have really gone up in my estimations and my respect, to put your twist on one of the best loved songs of the last five years...I think it was amazing.

'I really hope this will change your life for the better.'

Comedian Tonikaku left the audience and judges in fits of laughter with his uncanny series of superhero "naked" poses.

The 40-year-old wild card act posed as Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, and even as judge Simon Cowell pressing the red buzzer - and his 'hero' Freddie Mercury during Queen's Don't Stop Me Now.

At the end of each pose, he said: 'Don't worry I'm wearing', and pointed to his pants.

Simon said: 'You're one of the funniest people we have ever, ever had on this show, I am so happy to have you back on the final. You were absolutely brilliant.'

Bruno described it as 'insanity', while Alesha said: 'You made me break my ring I laughed so hard. I was banging the desk in laughter.'

It come after Simon was in hysterics during Friday's semi-final as he imagined Tonikaku performing at the Royal Variety Performance later this year in front of the royal family.

Giving his feedback after Tonikaku's performance on Friday, Simon said: 'If you think of all the acts we've had on tonight, it's like, 'My God! My head is spinning'. What's making me laugh so much is that the winner of this show gets to perform in front of the royal family.'

Tonikaku failed finished third in his semi-final but was brought back as the wild card act.

Sunbed receptionist Amy Lou Smith gave an emotional rendition of Christina Aguilera's ballad Reflection during the Britain's Got Talent grand final.

The 34-year-old from Tipton, West Midlands, had the judges on their feet after the performance - in which she told Simon she 'really' wanted to win the show for her children, having given birth a few weeks ago.

Alesha said: 'I think we should put some perspective on this, here you are, shining composed... I am just so proud of you.'

Meanwhile, Amanda said: 'You are a shining example for all the women, we haven't had a female winner for a long time.'

Second to take to the stage was schoolgirl Olivia Lynes, who was judge Amanda Holden's golden buzzer choice.

She sang Let It Go from Disney classic Frozen for her final performance on the ITV talent show.

The 11-year-old, who dreams of performing on the West End when she is older, was thrilled to receive a video message from actress Samantha Barks, who plays Elsa in the musical, ahead of her performance.

Amanda said: 'You definitely let it go Olivia, the whole thing was pitch perfect, you are a little star - I just cannot believe the power house that you are.'

Simon said he detected a few nerves at the beginning of the song, but Alesha disagreed, saying: 'Confident and composed - I feel like you're living your fairy tale and dreams and I hope to one day see you on the West End stage.'

Tonight's first act Ghetto Kids pledged to scoop the £250,000 cash prize and use the money to build a home in Uganda for 'kids like them'.

Priscila, 12, Asharif, 12, Akram, 13, Shakib, 12, Madwanah, 13 and Josephine, five, showed off their moves to a medley of upbeat songs.

The dance troupe were judge Bruno Tonioli's golden buzzer choice, with the friends performing a routine to a medley of songs including Africa by Toto.

They shared a flag of their country during the performance, which ended with a shower of golden glitter.

Tonioli said: 'Seeing you makes me feel happy to be alive... you really are the pride of Africa.'

Alesha said: 'I can't put it into words how much joy you have brought us this year - You've done Uganda proud.'

Head judge Simon Cowell asked the 'joyous' group to come back every single year, adding: 'This isn't easy, you've got a few days to prepare something, in terms of personality, talent, everything worked... for me by a mile this was your best performance.'

In Friday's last live show, Simon Cowell confirmed there would be a lucky eleventh act making the final tonight.

The judges decided one of the top three acts who missed out to be given a second chance.

After a tense deliberation, it was decided Tonikaku will join this year's finalists in the live grand final. 

He finished third in Friday's semi-final, with Simon saying: 'We just had to have him in the final. It wouldn't be the same without him.'

Britain's Got Talent returns tonight at 7.30pm with the final acts in with a change of a £250,000 prize and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance later this year.

Those due to compete in the final on Sunday are choirboy Malakai Bayoh, danger-fuelled aerial acrobatic performers, Duo Odyssey, amputee dancer Musa Motha and singer Amy Lou. 

They will be joined by clown and comedian Viggo Venn, singer Olivia Lynes, dance troupe Ghetto Kids and singer Travis George.

However, things will change before Sunday, as it was revealed the judges would make a decision on a wildcard choice to be brought back to the show for the final, with the act being revealed during the programme.
