Meet the Australian influencer nursing Ben Chilwell through his World Cup heartbreak - as England footballer flies his VERY glamorous new girlfriend to Dubai for a romantic getaway

There's no denying it's been a heartbreaking few weeks for England football star Ben Chilwell.  

Last month, the Chelsea defender - who had won a coveted space on Gareth Southgate's England squad - tore his hamstring during a Champion's League match against Dinamo Zagreb.

Days later, it was confirmed by the club that the 25-year-old's World Cup dreams had been dashed and he would not be joining the Lions in Qatar. 

However, today Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealed that the Chelsea left-back has a new leading lady in his life to help nurse him through the heartbreak of not being able to compete.

The footballer is believed to have 'grown close' to Australian influencer Cartia Mallan, 24, over the past four months. 

Ben reportedly flew out his new love interest to Dubai at the end of November - where they enjoyed a week-long romantic getaway before the footballer started at training camp with Chelsea in Abu Dhabi.

Despite boasting over half a million followers on Instagram, Cartia - who has been an influencer for six years - has not posted a single photo of her new man on her feed.

However, eagle-eyed fans spotted the influencer wearing Ben's checked shirt on a night out in Dubai in footage that was shared on a friend's Instagram Stories.

Although she previously lived in Sydney and Brisbane, Cartia moved to London back in February 2020 - right before the pandemic hit.

Giving followers an update on how she was settling in at the time, she shared a series of photos of herself posing outside some Victorian houses in Westbourne Grove.

She said: 'All I’ve done in London, is walk around, stop for food, walk around again & then stop for food again. I’m truly not complaining. 

'Also I’m f***ing obsessed with it here.'

In the past few years, the 24-year-old influencer has worked with high-end brands such as YSL, Viktor & Rolf and Gucci on multiple beauty campaigns. 

Before jetting off to Dubai with Ben last month, Cartia attended an event held by luxury jeweler Cartier and also shared snaps from her luxury Bryon Bay getaway. 

From her Instagram feed, it's clear to see Cartia loves to travel and has visited Paris, Sydney, Budapest, Mallorca and Mykonos in the past six months.

Although she didn't confirm who she travelled to Dubai to see, Cartia shared a series of her sunbathing on a boast as the holiday drew to a close.

She cheekily captioned the post: 'Very salty, lots of sun and maybe a little too much tequila. But it doesn’t count on vaycay, right?'

Despite trying to keep her new romance under wraps, eagle-eyed fans noticed that she had visited Leicester back in October - where Ben grew up.

They also dug up footage of Mallan cheering Chilwell on during Chelsea's match against Manchester United on October 22 with her mother Kylie.

Chilwell appears to have sealed the tick of approval from Mallan's mother and follows her on Instagram.

A source told Daily Mail Australia: 'They have grown really close over the last few months and things are getting serious.'

Earlier this year, the influencer was criticised online after she posted a badly Photoshopped image of herself on Instagram.   

In 2018, the then 18-year-old influencer said she felt extremely lucky to make a living out of social media.

In June, she uploaded a photo to Instagram of herself posing on the steps outside her new home in London.

Thanks to some heavy-handed editing, however, Cartia's legs and the stairs behind her were unnaturally warped out of shape.

After her followers spotted the gaffe, Cartia quickly deleted the image and uploaded another version of the photo moments later.

But fans could still see tell-tale signs of editing in the second image, including the bizarrely curved stairs surrounding Cartier's legs.

Cartia told The Daily Telegraph that she loves being able to decide her own working hours - but admitted it does have its downsides too.

She said: 'I feel very grateful to be given the opportunity and I'm the hardest to do the best I can.

'You set your own hours and you have to use your time effectively. It is a full-on job; there's never a switch-off button.'

'In terms of my followers, the one thing I always disclose is that I will never work with a brand I wouldn't use myself. It has to be authentic and quite personal,' she added.
