PARIS (AP) — French President Emmanuel Macron’s government on Wednesday presented a bill to enforce tougher immigration rules, which human rights organizations criticize as repressive toward asylum-seekers. The government says the bill, presented at a Cabinet meeting, aims at accelerating expulsion of people who don’t qualify for asylum. It also wants to provide better conditions for those allowed to stay in the country, such as offering more French classes and job training.
Interior minister Gerard Collomb said the plan is “balanced” and “is aligned with European procedures.”
The plan will reduce the consideration period for an application for asylum to a maximum of six months, down from about one year including appeal.
Human rights activists say the quicker process will make it more difficult for asylum-seekers to defend their rights.
The plan would also allow authorities to hold migrants who are staying illegally in the country in closed centers for up to 90 days instead of the current 45, in order to organize their deportation.

Yes the beginning of the end was the meat grinder at Verdun. My ex wifes great grandfather was killed there two weeks after his son (her grandfather) was born. That son was taken as farm slave labor in 1940 by the Germans when his son (her father) was 2 and did not return until the kid was 10. They have no idea how to be men any longer.
Europe died at WWI, WWII was just piling on.

The whole asylum business is a racket.
The idea that you must let someone inside your house no questions asked and only after you have fed and housed him for several days do you get to check him out with his lawyer making the case that he should continue staying in your house because he’s “oppressed” is absurd and moronic beyond belief.
Too late for the wake up then? A lesson for the US?
The only reasonable place to deport them is Angela Merkel’s house.
