Scarborough often brags about coming from the gun culture. But to make the case for more gun control today, he repeatedly claimed that an AR-15 is “more lethal than an M-16.”

So the exact same round going through almost the exact same rifle is somehow more lethal in an ar-15? This would be conical if they weren’t do serious about coming after guns.

In a way he is right. People are conditioned to think that full auto is tremendously lethal. Slower, well aimed fire is more effective in most cases.

Don't know if that dead girl's boss ever wore a uniform but in my day the M-16 was capable of firing fully automatic.They let us do it once at the rifle range at Fort Knox in '69.Pretty cool indeed!

However,I understand that they were since modified to only fire three round bursts...which would still make them more "dangerous" than the AR-15.

I wonder if he means M-60.

How can that even remotely be possible?
Everyone knows an AR-15 is one fewer than a M-16.
It is just simple counting, after all.

True ... but the selector switch on every M-16 I ever saw had the "one at a time" position.
