RUSH: How many of you people watch Homeland? Are you watching it this season? Im almost gonna tell you, dont waste your time. They have totally and, look, a good friend of mine founded that show, Howard Gordon. I dont know if Howard is still involved in this or not.
Actually, there is a reason to watch this. There is a reason to watch season 7 of Homeland. If you want to find out, if you want to see exactly what the left thinks of Donald Trump and of you, watch this show. It is the most embarrassing, it is the most outrageous, indescribable panic attack that youve ever seen.
Its got the president imprisoning 200 government officials. It has the president insisting that a military guy, a general, who led a coup against her, be murdered after a military tribunal refused the death penalty. She tells her chief of staff to take care of it, meaning the guy dies, and the guy does. They find a guard to poison the guy as hes being admitted into the prison.
They have turned the lead female character, Claire Danes character, into an look, shes always been bipolar and so forth. But this show has gone from her working at the CIA tracking down known threats to the United States and all the intrigue operating with that. To last nights show she is, her computer well, in the first place, she is part of the resistance against the Trump presidency, although its a woman, shes part of the resistance trying to save the country.
People are insane. These people, what they think of us, we laugh at it and we sit here acting incredulous when we see signs of it. But when you watch a show like this, this show was written specifically to reflect what they think of America with Trump as president. And this former lead character who was bipolar but still did her job well has now been reduced to doing pornographic sex displays for a computer hacker who has frozen her computer demanding ransomware.
Next on Episode 2 | Homeland | Season 7
And then she finally is lured well, she demands to meet this guy in person to get her computer unfrozen, and its just there is no foreign enemy in this program. So far. And thats only two episodes in. But more than the details of the plot, it is the illustration of what the American left actually thinks of people who arent them. And the paranoia and the deranged delusion, this show captures it.
One of the primary characters is a television talk show host who opposes the president, who is on the run because the governments trying to put him in jail, because hes saying things the president doesnt want to hear. And theyve got the FBI going after the guy, and theyve got the National Security Agency leader going after the guy, and the guys holed up Where? On a farm with a bunch of followers who chew tobacco, wear red John Deere hats, and drive tractors and pickup trucks around.
Hes got an audience of about 50 people. He has to broadcast from a hidden location because hes so sought by the federal government. The president wants to put him in jail and throw away the key, and hes overheard describing his fans as the lunatic fringe, so he has to do some damage control with the lunatic fringe and tell them hes sorry and he apologizes. And theyre out taking target practice with a picture of the president on the target. I mean, its just
You sit here and say, What happened to what used to be a great television show? What happened to it is the people who are in charge of it obviously have decided to turn this season into their view, their opinion, their fears of not, I dont think, just the Trump presidency, but any Republican presidency. And what made me think of it is these headlines in leftist media reacting to my Fox News appearance yesterday.
Imagine the libtard response if a show did this to obama or a demcrat president. They would be screaming how awful and partisan entertainment is, finding ways to kill any govt grants or funding or location tax breaks the show had.
Sounds like the writers were anticipating a Hillary Clinton presidency.
Sounds to me like what would have happened if Hillary had been elected.
It takes a huge stretch of the imagination and more than a little paranoia to see Trump in the character who is portraying the female president in Homeland. She’s nothing like Trump.
Oh no. I havent started watching this season yet, hoping to binge on the first few episodes soon. Maybe I wont bother. It really hasnt been the same without Brody anyway.
I still watch Homeland. It hasn’t gotten so bad that I’ve turned it off — yet. One of the more amusing parts of watching is the complete schizophrenia that Trump’s election produced. Last year, they CLEARLY were setting up for a Hillary Clinton win with the evil “deep state” undermining brave, liberal Hillary’s win. When Trump won, they had to do a 180 turn to figure out how to make the Deep State the good guys and the president the bad guy. But they’re stuck with a female, paranoid president who reminds people a Hell of a lot like Hillary Clinton if she would have won. So now all the bad guys in the Deep State are gone and not part of the story line. It will be funny to see how it plays out and how they can twist it into a “Liberals good; conservatives bad” storyline.
1) The female president isn’t really “ paranoid” because she survived a “deep state” assassination attempt on her friggin life.
2) The “news reporter” with 50 listeners doctored a video to show her son, a Marine, running away from gunfire showing him to be a coward when in fact he was a hero and actually running towards his wounded comrades in order to save them.
I knew there was a reason I never watched that show.
This would have been a Hillary Clinton presidency, particularly how the Obama presidency set the stage.
In my opinion, thus far, the season shows the results of a deep state attempted coup in a negative light, a somewhat paranoid reactionary just elected POTUS who has initially exceeded her Constitutional limits and appears to be dialing it back, a 'deplorable' outsider type of unconventional media type who does not trust government and is somewhat representative of what the Left think Trump supporters are like, and an ex-CIA type on the outside looking in who has factual knowledge that the corruption is wider than other believe and is trying to figure out what the hell is going on...
As far as the rest of the season, I imagine it will entail discovering who all the players are/were and who is ultimately behind the coup attempt (Russians?)
Yep, embarrassingly off topic, the show jumped the shark when they refused to portray reality and instead embraced political correctness. Sad.
I’ll stick to KDramas, thank you very much.
I have no use for anything from Hollywood these days.
>>>It takes a huge stretch of the imagination and more than a little paranoia to see Trump in the character who is portraying the female president in Homeland. Shes nothing like Trump<<<
That’s the point. The Character is what Liberals “think” POTUS Trump is, not who he really is.
These are the same people that have no problem knowing that the Obama Administration weaponized Government Resources to attack their perceived Enemy, Conservatives and Republicans.
