Spot the Watch: Singapore Street Edition- Everyday wear watches

Sometime last year, we carried a special Spot the Watch episode where our intrepid reporters went incognito and spied on watches worn by the public taking public transport or in public areas in Singapore. It was a bit of a surprise to some that high end watches are often spotted in our streets. But in this country where the Crazy Rich Asians movie is based, it is not unusual. Today, we carry on, still incognito, with more spots in public transport and coffee shops.

Evening street scene, Chinatown, Singapore. May 2012.

We begin with a spot of a Rolex Daytona Everose in a rubber strap on a public bus service 174 along Orchard Road.

Then in a Food Court in an semi-urban mall, near Lavender.

One evening, in a queue for Thai food at a stall in a Hawker Centre, we spotted this Hublot.

A Tudor Black Bay Red on the wrist of a lady in church. In the same church, we often spot various Rolex watches.

At a coffee shop, al-fresco one morning, a group of 5 uncles (somewhat elderly gentlemen) were gathered for coffee. And we spotted at least 2 interesting watches on their wrists. First the Franck Muller Casablanca in SS Black PVD.

Perhaps the group was having a watch GTG, as a few of them were double wristed. As they started to leave, the gentleman with the orange shirt above was spotted with a watch in each wrist, but we did not identify the watches. And below an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak one another of the group.

Thus concludes this episode of Spot the Watch: Street Edition.
