Classic style, function and form, with elegance.

The understated Adamavi is Carl F. Bucherer‘s classic collection, which completes other ranges from the brand, such as the sporty Patravi or the higher-end Manero, focused on the brand’s in-house watchmaking expertise. The latest addition to the Adamavi line is an elegant full calendar with a moonphase. Presented in stainless steel, either with a silver or black dial, it combines practical functions in a classy, understated package.

Just like the other models of the Carl F. Bucherer Adamavi collection, the full calendar is a classically-designed watch. It offers a useful function, specifically for those who want something a little more focussed on watchmaking than a time-only watch, or a date complication. Compared to a traditional calendar watch, the full or complete calendar displays the date, the day of the week, the month and it is usually paired with the phases of the Moon. Unlike an annual or perpetual calendar (far more complex and expensive complications), it will require 5 adjustments per year, for the months that do not comprise 31 days. The correctors fitted in the case band allow for quick adjustment.

The classic-looking Adamavi Full Calendar comes in the restrained dimensions you might expect from such a watch, at 39mm in diameter and with a height of 10.10mm – both relatively compact and pleasant in today’s market with oversized watches. The round case features elegant short lugs and a thin, rounded, polished bezel that leaves enough space to create an elegant and legible display. The exterior part of the dial features concentrically applied baton-style hour markers in warm rose gold tone, the date indication (indicated by a keenly tailed hand) and finally the window for the date, month and moon phase display. It comes either in silver or black, both with a vertical satin finish.

Turning the watch over, the exhibition case back is closed by four screws. It offers an unimpeded view on the automatic Calibre CFB 1966, based on the tried and tested ETA-2892A fitted with a Dubois-Dépraz calendar module – a combination that allows Carl F. Bucherer to offer this classic dress watch at a reasonable price. 26.20mm in diameter, the calibre CFB 1966 runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Its power reserve is of 42 hours when fully wound. The movement decoration is traditional with Geneva Stripes on the golden rotor and perlage on the bridges.

The Carl F. Bucherer Adamavi Full Calendar is presented either on a glossy alligator leather strap with pin buckle or on a stainless-steel bracelet with a folding buckle. With its 7 rows and small links, the bracelet is fluid and together with the compact 39mm case, it ensures great comfort on the wrist. It comes with a semi-integrated case attachment that significantly changes the look of the watch with some type of 1970s feel.

The Carl F. Bucherer Adamavi Full Calendar is priced at CHF 3,600 for the leather strap version and at CHF 3,950 for the steel bracelet version.
