A sex pest golf club captain asked a teenager for 'dirty pictures' in return for helping her to buy a new car, a court heard.

The young woman was in her late teens when she asked Malcolm Fawcett for help because as a serving police officer he would be able to help her get a discount on the vehicle.

She told jurors of her shock at his request for lewd photographs and also said he would like her to bring him a towel into the men's locker room at Brancepeth Castle Golf Club, near Durham.

The same complainant says he stopped her in the corridor at the club at a New Year party and kissed her on the lips.

Fawcett, 57, faces a string of charges at Teesside Crown Court relating to the abuse of his position as club captain to wage a two-year campaign of sexual harassment against a number of women.

He is accused of warming his hands after coming in from the course by placing them inside a woman's top between her breasts.

He is also said to have simulated sex by grinding against another complainant whilst she was bending over on more than one occasion.

The first of his accusers gave evidence today behind a screen.

She told how she was trying to buy a new car and saw a deal where public sector workers were able to get a discounted rate, so knowing he was a police officer she asked him to sign a form to help her.

She told jurors of her shock at his request for lewd photographs and also said he would like her to bring him a towel into the men's locker room at Brancepeth Castle Golf Club, (pictured) near Durham

She told the court: 'I asked him on Facebook messenger if he would be willing to sign a piece of paper to say he worked for the police.

'He said he would help if I sent him some dirty pictures or take him a towel into the shower room in the men's lockers.

'I don't think I replied on messenger at the time. I was shocked and disappointed because I was just asking for help.'

She described how Fawcett would deliberately brush against women as he made his way around the club but make it seems as though it was accidental.

The woman said: 'He would quite often brush against you as he was walking past and then say 'oh, sorry I didn't mean to,' but I would know he had done it on purpose.'

And she described her shock at being kissed on the lips by Fawcett.

The alleged victim told the court: 'I think it was New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. I was coming along the corridor and he was coming the other way.

'He grabbed me for a cuddle to say Happy New Year and then kissed me on the lips. I was shocked and stepped back.'

Fawcett (pictured), of Framwellgate Moor, Durham, pleaded not guilty to 11 charges of sexual assault dating from January 2016 until January this year

The woman said she reported the incident to a manager at the club and thereafter Fawcett treated her differently and reduced her to tears by insinuating she had spent money from his membership card buying herself wine.

Earlier in the trial Philip Standfast, prosecuting, said when the victims reported his inappropriate behaviour 'very little' was done to address their concerns.

The prosecutor said Fawcett had started carrying the assaults out when he was vice captain and the frequency increased when he became captain.

In relation to one of the alleged victims, Mr Standfast said: 'The defendant put his hand down her top, between her breasts, and then said something like his hands were cold.

'She was shocked and asked him what he was doing, the defendant replied by giggling and walking away.

'A few weeks after that the defendant came from behind her, put his arms around her midriff and rubbed his crotch against her bottom in a 'dry humping' motion.

'That same week the defendant did it again – simulating having sex with her.'

Mr Standfast said the alleged victim was initially worried about complaining about his actions as he was an 'influential' man.

On another occasion, the defendant is accused of slipping his hand across the same woman's bottom and towards her genital area, laughing and making a lewd comment.

The barrister said that another of the alleged victims 'felt uncomfortable being around the defendant' as she had heard him talking about her and other woman in a 'sexualised' way.

Fawcett, of Framwellgate Moor, Durham, pleaded not guilty to 11 charges of sexual assault dating from January 2016 until January this year.

Five of the charges relate to one of Fawcett's four alleged victims, whilst there are three against another, two charges for the third woman and one charge in connection with the final alleged victim.
