I could see Gastelum doing extremely well at Welterweight.

His poor discipline and lack of effort when it comes to dieting has led him to become stagnant when in reality had he been at WW, I don’t see anyone taking him down other than Usman, Woodley and maybe Colby beating him and I almost guarantee it won’t be easy. With his striking unless he completely shit the bed I could easily see him becoming a champ at 170. Kelvin 2020 should make his way back down and start lighting fools up instead of waiting to fight guys like Whittaker.

Mini Cain is too fat, that’s why he moved to middleweight.

Plus, Conor would KTFO Mini Cain if he stayed at WW.

Everyone isn’t going to give him his 30% back like Woodley did.

If Gastelum took making weight and staying in shape seriously, he could possibly be a champion at 170.

Kelvin would wreck 170 but he can’t keep food out of his mouth.

I don't know if he would, but that's a fight I never knew I wanted

it's hilarious

he wouldn't even be a big WW either. 170 is the perfect weight for him but he's just too lazy to diet down.

He'd do well overall but probably no better than he has at 185. I see a larger grappler like Usman, using their reach advantage and controlling Gastelum the same way Weidman and even Till was able to do.

The man had to play elbow games on the scale at 185. I'm not sure he wants to try and cut to WW again.

He hasn't done bad at 185. He did incredibly well against Izzy, all things considered. The issue is that the Kelvin who fought Israel and the one who fought Till looked nothing alike.

Gastelum can’t make weight at 170. He can make weight at 185. End of story.

he can barely make 185 these days. he will soon be fighting at lhw

Gastelum lost to Magny. Let that sink in lol
Kelvin was young and inexperienced though. He's evolved his game quite a bit during his tenure at MW.

I would love to see Kelvin vs Usman. Kelvin's def no slouch at grappling and his striking is league's above Marty's.

He's a solid fighter, well rounded. His lack of discipline will be his biggest roadblock.

Wouldn't say he's been amazing at Middleweight. Beat Cyclops Ping which was a good win, lost to flushed Weedman, got manhandled by Adesanya, and couldn't get going against Till.

Welterweight is a shark tank too. I don't see him cracking the top 3 there any time soon.

If that 165 div comes in and they move WW to 175 than he’d be good. He’s one of those fighters I could see being a train to lose weight and sacrifice skill when at 170. 175 might be alright. Who knows. If talking like this moving MW to 190 Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos could rule it.
