Putting Rousey against Nunes is one of the worst booking decisions in the history of Combat Sports.

Let me start this off by saying that I never drank the UFC’s Kool aid with Rousey, she was very obviously extraordinarily one dimensional and her resume is horrible even compared to other high level WMMA fighters.

But even with that being said Dana decided that the best thing to do after She got destroyed by HOLLY HOLM was to put her against Amanda Nunes? I’m not saying that Rousey should have ducked her but the better and more sensible thing was to either have her rematch Holm or fight some other generic soccer mom WMMA can.

I think that if that match didn’t happen when it did she would probably still be in the UFC in some capacity.

Long story short Dana was an idiot for deciding to do that <31>

They rushed her back, hoping to rekindle what she had, and praying that Holm was a random occurrence. But Nunes was a monster.

Especially when you consider they didn't promote Nunes whatsoever going in, so she didn't get a bump off it and Nunes is out here selling 100k PPVs

I wonder if Rousey would have came in as confident as normal if she hadn't have already lost to Holm?

Almost as bad as Aaron Pico's booking last fight.

Women's mixed martial arts isn't very deep.
War lioness.

I think it would have been worse for her. She would have ran right at Amanda swinging hay makers.

Amanda would have slept her sooner.

Dana knew Ronda’s time in the sport was up. There was no longer a need to protect her. So he decided to use her last fight against the champion. Also considering how much Ronda was seemingly getting paid no other fight would make sense.

Yeah they fucked up, should have given her Tate as warm up fight.

Who was to know she would look worse ? You'd think someone as driven and competitive as Ronda would of worked on her weaknesses. She looked even worse against Nunes, she looked worse than anyone Nunes had ever faced, she looked like a full blown tomato can. Ronda may have contended for the belt if she changed camps and worked with a legitimate striking coach not that delusional egomaniac in Edmund.

Nunes wasn't didn't look good in the Cat fight. She didn't even want to stand with cat and gassed out in R3. She suddenly turned into a worldbeater overnight.

Yeah I definitely agree, however we don't know the exact context, perhaps Ronda demanded a rematch.

I think everything happens for a reason. The Holly Holm loss changed her forever, if it wasn't Nunes, it might've been someone else. In hindsight, Ronda can always say she went out against the greatest WMMA fighter, Amanda fk'in Nunes. I'm sure she would've been scorched even more if she got Ko'd by a Raquel Pennington.

Nunes is non natty?<TheWire1>

Pico was never good though at least rousey didn't have cte at 22

Every MMA fighter is walking around with CTE, no doubt. Jordan Parsons had clear CTE when he had his autopsy done and he was 25 years old 11-2. Crazy, imagine Mark Hunts brain. Alistair Overeem. Can’t imagine.
