Firstly, the double main event of UFC 240 ends up being Conor vs Tony and Poirier vs Nate for the Interim Title (I don't know how Dustin would get lured into a fight with anyone but Khabib next, but just imagine that he does.) What happens is Conor beats Ferguson, Nate beats Dustin but Nate figuratively tosses the belt into the garbage since he doesn't care about championships and calls out McGregor instead. Conor beats him to put the final cap on their rivalry at the end of the year.

But where does this leave Khabib? With Conor, Tony, Dustin, etc. all out of the picture, who can he possibly defend against? Gaethje? Cowboy? Al? The winner of that whole triangle? Nope, I think that the UFC would finally book a superfight between him and GSP for the 155 pound title. And that George would end up outclassing Khabib and finishing him to become the first three weight champion.

And if that happened, then the biggest fight in MMA history falls right into their laps - Conor McGregor vs George St. Pierre for the Lightweight Championship in early/mid 2020. I personally see Conor shocking the world by upsetting George and beating him to reclaim his throne, but others disagree.

GSP comes back after a sincere apology from Dana, then whoops Khabib for Round 2 TKO or submission, then chokes Conor unconscious, then TKO's Ferguson.

lol @ GSP finishing Khabib at 155 (or 165 for that matter).

I want Conor vs Ferg. Two lunatics fighting and one hell of a funny pre-fight build up. Both Tony and Conor going at it in a verbal war would be gold. They both have so much ammunition to spray and Ferg gets his payday.

Then they can meet the Dagastani killer.

I took the bait and clicked despite the give away title that its just your fantasy list.

I don't think you even have the first two fights correct and that nullifies everything else in your post.

...and if Dustin fights anyone not named Khabib (and he fights before Khabib's next fight) he should be promoted to champion with the actual title on the line.

The only fight that Dustin takes that isn't Khabib would be Conor. If he was able to somehow get the UFC to agree to book him in a quick fight Dustin could take that payday and then fight Khabib next.

Nate and Conor aren't relevant in the title picture.
