Originally mentioned that he’d have at least 2 fights left in him, it looks like Cormier will settle for his retirement fight with Lesnar at HW.

Looks like he’ll be done with 205 and that title be up for grabs. It’ll be the same for the HW belt if Lesnar somehow makes it past USADA and Cormier gets his easy payday and rides off into the sunset as the double-champ.

cormier joins the Duck Parade.

That's because I'm going to end your career!

did you even heard the article?

Good for him. Then on to WWE probably.

He said he wanted to retire before he turned 40. That's only 8 months away.

I don't blame him. The only thing he could really do at this point to add to his legacy is beating Jones, but the odds of Jones getting his situation straightened out and cleared to fight by early next year are virtually zero.

When you give up 1 belt, you are no longer “double champ”.

And does he still ride off into the sunset if Brock smashes his face like he did to Mir?

It's fine, after the murderous row he went through, he can take it easy. Also, IIRC, he has a broken hand so I don't see him fighting anytime soon.

If he would relax his March timeline slightly, I think he could get both Shogun (or otherwise defend LHW), and do Brock as his very last fight. He might be able to anyway.

In any event, I'm rooting for it all to work out. He deserves it in spades.

In the article, it doesn't say he'll be done at 205.

As for his light heavyweight title, Cormier says he wants to defend it against Mauricio Rua, next. However, the likes of Ilir Latifi and Yoel Romero have also been calling for their own title shots at 205 pounds.

So this is old news.

Well, i guess i'll be rooting for brock. There's a 1st time for everything.

how the fuck can he justify wanting to defend the title against shogun?? as shogun fan, of course i would love to see him win the title, but he's nowhere near a title shot.

definitely hope dc takes an L his last fight.

No one took the time to read the article, TS made it all up. He says hes going to defend his belt at 205 first, hoping its against shogun then fight brock and retire.

I'd be shocked if he actually retires (and stays retired) in March. Makes the Jones trilogy fight all the more epic if he "breaks his promise to his family, puts his future on hold to settle the score." Shit writes itself.

whos closer to a title shot at 205 then shogun on a 3 fight win streak.

This sort of weight stuff did Roy Jones in. Cormier musta forgot.
