How is Volk p4p number 1 ?

No disrespect at all …. I think Volks a beast

but how the F is he the p4p number 1 most skilled fighter in the world ?

he hasn’t shown any submission skills really , other then popping out of ortegas choke .

hasn’t shown much wrestling …. Sure he’s controlled people - but nothing next level .

he’s just a great cardio kick-boxer …. Great feints , great chin , tremendous heart …. But nothing stands out as most skilled in the world .

he’s a former HW decisioning everyone at featherweight …. Shouldn’t p4p number 1 be the most skilled and technical fighter ?

I just don’t see it ….. big fan of him …. Think he seems like a great guy and admire his heart …. But I don’t see anything world class skill wise .

I think Islam finishes him - as most think - then Volk probably loses again back in his own division soon .

number 1 featherweight absolutely …. Number 1 p4p I think no chance …. Hasn’t demonstrated anything to say he’s the most skilled fighter in the world …. In fact I think featherweight is relative weak division right now

it’s a weak division right now …. Not really any killers … hopefully Allen or Yair can take over caz emmett and the rest are too old

Personally I think tuporia or evleov need to be pushed up the ranks quicker caz they’re the real dark horses of the division … tuporia is a killer

Volk was 3rd best P4P behind Jones and Marty. Jones hasn't fought for years and Marty lost to Leon. Hence Volk gets number 1. He'll probably lose it when Jones beats Gane.

Usman lost. Jones basically quit. Khabib retired. Stipe lost to Ngannou. Cejudo retired. Yan lost by DQ. Izzy was but lost to Pereira. Max was worth a lot for Volk. End of story.

Because the P4P list is a joke.

He is by default because all the other candidates are written off

Can't think of anyone more deserving that's active.

That’s my rationale as well. He’s there because right now there isn’t anyone more deserving. He is really damn good though. If he beats Islam and Jon loses to Gane it will really solidify Volk as the top P4P.

Max is one of the greatest ever and a flatout better fighter than most the other top P4P candidates and Volk made him look like he didnt belong in the cage with him after a disputed decision in the 2nd fight going 3-0 with a fellow all time great. The trilogy fight was one of the best wins and performances in MMA history.

Can't see an argument for anyone over him. Also, you're not giving him enough credit skill-wise.

Having a dominant performance against Max was good enough for me, Volk is the most proven guy right now who didn’t recently lose.

I think Yair knocks him out with a kick, jumping or spinning move. Maybe even an elbow but I think it'll most likely be a kick. Might not completely KO him but it could start the finish. Emmet is very slow and doesn't really have footwork, don't think he'll be able to properly gauge and read Yair's moves. He'll get caught coming in because Emmet has to plant his feet before he throws his strikes. I think Yair will be too fast and unpredictable for Emmet. Yair is going to dance circles around Emmet. Compare their similar opponents in Stephens, Emmet is the exact same fighter he was back then.

Because p4p is fantasy. It's a concept.

It's based on how good someone is doing in their division

Volk def most dominant in his division then anybody else.


His division isn't weak. He just makes everyone look #2.

Max is my boy. He's gonna fall off soon. That style doesn't leave itself to longevity and Volk just beat him at his own game twice. Hespect
