1) Chris Weidman
He was supposed to be the "special" kid. He beat the legend Anderson Silva and defended his title against two other legends, Belfort and Machida. From there, he went on to get his face smashed by Rockhold after a terrible spinning shit kick attempt and kept on losing. Got his eye messed up by Romero's knee, tried to cheat his way out against Mousasi, faceplanted after getting punched in the face by Souza, had a terrible move to LHW and got KO'd back to MW where he eventually ended it all with a broken leg. Oh the irony to live the same fate as Anderson, the guy he dethroned a few years back.

2) Renan Barao
He was the invincible force in BW who hadn't lost in 9 years.. He got absolutely schooled by T.J in a 5 rounds domination and never came back from it. He lost 7 of his next 9 fights and got KO'd again by T.J in the process. Completely disapperead from all the GOAT talks while he was regarded as one of the most dominant fighters Pound for Pound at that time. Now any casual wouldn't know who the f Renan Barao is.

3) Fedor Emelianenko
There's something terribly sad when you see the man who was considered the most feared HW in the world lose his aura. We're talking about the guy who beat Big Nog and Cro Cop in their respective game, and had never been beaten in 31 pro fights before his downfall.
He got careless and go caught in a triangle, then endured a terrible beating from Bigfoot in a fight where he looked like a kid brutalized by his dad. Cherry to the cake, he then got KO'd by a middleweight and left strikeforce after that.
Don't talk to me about the cans or washed up fighters he beat after because that's not relevant and that doesn't make what happened in these three fights less painful.

4) Conor Mcgregor
The higher you go the harder you fall. He was on the top of the world after his masterclass against Eddie Alvarez. Maybe one of the most stellar and dominant performances we witnessed. He was the champ champ and nobody could deny his talent, his impressive determination and his mental warfare.
Money and fame got to his head, he then lost himself in cocaine, red panty nights, freak shows, and got his ass handed to him by Khabib in what was one of the most iconic fights and rivalry in the history of the UFC. After this performance, his trashtalk had lost his power for good.
Cowboy was only there to make it seem that Conor was still relevant, but reality check was too hard when Poirier KO'd him and broke his leg in back to back fights.
The vision of him lying on the floor with his broken leg, shouting "your wife is in me DMs" is the pathetic conclusion to a downfall that was inevitable for someone so inactive.

5) Anderson Silva
You have to talk about a fall from grace when you have the most consecutive title defences and get KO'd unconscious by a newcomer. Not only that, Anderson then broke his leg in a brutal fashion, got busted for steroid use, and lost all his next fights, despite good but frustrating moments against Bisping. Should not have won against Brunson, he basically did nothing in there.
He went on to have bizarre fights, where he had the courage to take Cormier on short notice, but his confrontation with Nick Diaz was more of an exhibition farce. Jared Cannonier showed how old Silva looked in comparison with the new generation, and even old Uriah Hall knocked him out bad. Time to hang them off, spider...

Fedor and Anderson never fell from grace; they got old. There’s an argument that Conor didn’t either since he’s likely still the biggest attraction in the sport.

Barao is a good example. Others are Miguel Torres, Roger Huerta, BJ Penn. that’s just off the top of my head.

From potential megastar to PRIDE jobber

You mean roided up Bigfoot? And Conor’s exit from MMA was an absolute disgrace. At least Fedor and Anderson went out with some dignity. I don’t get why these men should be shamed for fighting past their prime. What’s the alternative? Leave early like Khabib and be scorned regardless?

That's true. But Fedor was KO'd by a MW. Imagine being the baddest man on the planet and getting ko'd like that. Anderson's broken leg is part of what i call the fall from grace. They are still my favorite fighters.

Mayhem was close to being a big star. Same with Murray. The others not so much

Murray i dont know, i have never seen him live. Mayhem was a good fighter but not near anything special, i think his tv persona will be what people will remember the most about him (+ nashville + the entrances). Anyway its also where you put the cursor on the "grace" aspect that will determine the kind of people you ll put on the list

Yeah and Khamzat was dropped by a LW. And Cormier was rocked by a WW. It’s Hendo. He could KO anyone. “Grace” is the operative word here. There’s a big difference between succumbing to age and fight mileage vs. acting like a total scumbag after getting your ass kicked. Ronda belongs on this list. The way she hid her head in the sand after all the “don’t cry” bad girl bullshit. I’m fine with the way Fedor, Andy, and Chris went out. At least they tried and were somewhat competitive. Chuck and BJ’s downfalls were also way worse.

nah not really rockhold only has losses to champions and title challengers.

Tyron lost 4 straight fights then lost to jake paul twice in a row.

So does tyrone but i agree with the fact he went extremly fast from the "he is the best of all time at ww" (which was a crazy statement btw) to not being able to beat someone in the top 10.
The jake Paul fights are not great for the "street cred" aspect but its another sport, so i dont think it should count

Fedor and Anderson didn't have a fall from grace, they simply fought past their primes and ended up taking some L's.

Fedor has a 21 year career and 40-6-1 record. I would hardly call that a fall from grace. I would call that a GOAT HOF career.
