I have my girlfriend in California who I chat with every day but, for the most part, have been living alone since moving to Tennessee in January.

I love it in a lot of ways. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. No arguing or drama. Just me and the animals who are like my kids and all treat me like a divine being because I control the food. I'm quite happy here.

Are you single or in a relationship? Are you satisfied with it or wish you could change your situation? What are the pros and cons of your situation?

Hope you all have a great Friday night.

Sorry, you meant ex-girlfriend, right?
We talk every day and I think eventually she will move here which I look forward to. I do need to build a tiny house that I can escape to in order to have my personal time though. Sometimes it's just so nice to be alone. Haven't talked to another human face to face for days except for video chat and it feels nice. I'm relaxed and have low stress atm.

So you were a couple and then you moved to Tennessee, or is this a Tinder/online type relationship?

I spent 3 months looking after my parents back in England a couple of years ago and it ruined me needing my own space. I was supposed to go to Anaheim with my other half for a massive music expo which I normally love for 4 days after I got back and sent him off on his own so I could just do whatever I wanted with no one for 4 days.

I'm single and I don't enjoy it. It's lonely. Bit my relationships are always terrible and make my quality of life worse.

So it's a conundrum. I will say being single is great for my finances.

We've been together for over 10 years now. I've dated other women during that time but she's always been loyal to me in spite of my bad behavior. It makes me love and appreciate her more. Plus, we're comfortable living together and know that it works.

Good to be there for family but sounds like you also recharge when you're alone

I've been with the same girl for a long time, and while there are times I wish I was single, I know I would miss her. But although we live together, we are often off doing our own thing which suits me perfectly. Being joined at the hip like some couples are seems like torture to me.

Sending good vibes your way

Never been single or lived alone ever in my Life.

But, as an introverted guy, it would probably feel like heaven to me.

Why didn’t she move to Tennessee with you?

Her family is in California and with her skill set and expertise, there are more work opportunities for her there.

Thanks man I try not to sound like a downer about it because honestly everything else is going fantastic and I don't want to sound ungrateful.

It would be better to have someone to share it with, but life is good.
I understand and know that lonely feeling. Better to be alone than with the wrong woman though. They can suck the life out of you.
Maybe a pet?

What took you away from California?

Been single for like 5 years now. After spending all my 20s long term dating different women. I love being single, now in my 30s. That may change but right now I wouldn't change it.

This is part of what makes me appreciate her more. After dating other women and seeing how they are, I came to appreciate her more and more. She helped me to improve and be a better person without being a naggy, selfish energy vampire. That's rare and it's better to be alone than to deal with that. The brotherhood of sherbros is here for you friend.

Yeah a good woman is hard to find. Especially for me, I've always been a bit awkward.

In the meantime I'm just working on myself and my goals, which is what they say you should do. And that's going quite well so I can't complain. Honestly for years after my divorce when all the debt piled up it felt like I would never get debt free no matter what I did.

I'm so close now and far ahead of the schedule I had set. Busy year down here and pretty much everyone is putting in extra hours across the entire industry.

I'm gonna have my 5 year car loan paid off in 2 in a couple months here, then I'll finally be free.
