Ben Askren thinks Khamzat retirement post was a publicity stunt

Khamzat basically said my heart and body is done. Hardly a great publicity stunt if your job is to fight for a living.
 
Why does anything Ben Askren say always become a new article or a thread?

It's insane how this guy has managed to stay relevant for so long.

So you think he wont fight no more? He even left the option open. Not saying its wrong just saying this isnt anything official. Its just something he is battling and its still up in the air if he will fight.

Anything can happen ofc. He may very well fight again in the future. Calling it a PR stunt is next level silly though. He's clearly serious at the moment.

There is a threat that Kadyrov has convinced Khamzat to not retire, think they are good friends or something. Havent read yet though but its on the first page of the ufc section.
 
It will be a big let down if this in fact ends his fighting career we never get to see him capture the ww belt, the mw belt, the lhw belt, or the hw belt.
 
What the heck. so Khamzat is officially retired? wow how did I miss this yesterday? Thats awful news.. when is the last time a contender like this has retired so soon?
 
who knows. maybe covid really fucked him up. but i can't imagine him retiring so young. no damn way. he's fighting again, i just wonder when.
 
Ben is wrong though because people have already been talking about Khamzat for quite some time.

im not saying he isnt suffering but the retiring and blood coughing is indeed a great PR move. after he returnes they will use the blood coughing to promote him or as an excuse if he gets derailed.

in fact, after suffering from covid, or another influenza or so where you cough a lot, its absolutely normal that you cough blood after you overstrain yourself like he did. because of the coughing the throat gets quite irritated and when you force yourself with training it can happen very easily that the irritated spots opens up a little and you spit/cough fresh blood. usually the wound closes within a few minutes you stop coughing and you wont feel any pain or so.

if it would have been blood from the lungs, as they would like us to believe, he would not have been able to write this posts and answer Kadyrovs facetime call, thats for sure!
