Destiny 2: Warmind's PS4-Exclusive DLC Content Detailed
The Warmind DLC will be a bit more substantial on PS4 at launch.
Sony's timed exclusivity arrangement for Destiny 2 will continue with the upcoming Warmind DLC. Bungie has finally revealed the first real details about the expansion, including exactly what PS4 players will get their hands on before those on PC and Xbox One.
When Warmind releases on May 8, it will include an exclusive Strike called The Insight Terminus. This won't be set on Mars' new Hellas Basin area, where the expansion is primarily set, or deal with its main antagonist, the Hive; instead, it'll take players back to Nessus for some Vex action. Here's how Bungie describes it: "Zavala needs a team of Guardians to break into a Vex tomb on Nessus that has been overrun by the Cabal. Defeat the powerful Psion commander before he can take over the Vex gateway network and reap the rewards."
In addition to having access to this Strike before anyone else, PS4 players will also be able to get their hands on a new armor set for each class: Warlock, Hunter, and Titan. You can get a look at both the Strike and the new gear in the screenshots below.
There's no word on exactly when this content will unlock for PC and Xbox One players; the official line from Activision is that the timed content will be exclusive until "at least Fall 2018." That could mean it's coming this fall, or it could be any time after that--certain content for the original Destiny ultimately arrived much later on Xbox than its "at least" date suggested.
Warmind centers around the character Rasputin and new addition Ana Bray. The action primarily takes place in a new portion of Mars, and it comes with new Crucible maps, an endgame Public Event-style activity called Escalation Protocol, Exotic weapons and armor, a Raid Lair, and more. This launches on May 8, the same day that Season 3 begins, which itself brings an update that introduces Crucible rankings, Crucible private matches, Exotic weapon changes, and more.
