Co-creators Evil Empire and Motion Twin have announced that their side-scrolling roguelike RPG Dead Cells will receive a brand-new piece of DLC early next year.

Fatal Falls is the next major update for Dead Cells and retails for $5 USD when it drops in 2021 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It adds two new biomes (The Fractured Shrines and The Undying Shores) as well as additional bosses, enemies, and rewards. While specifics about Fatal Falls have not been shared, the studios said parts of the DLC are "parallels to the 'Stilt Village,' 'Clock Tower,' and 'Time Keeper' areas and their alternate paths." More details about Fatal Falls, including the new set of weapons, will be revealed soon.

In the meantime, the co-creators shared a teaser that briefly shows off the new areas players will explore come early next year. An exact release date for Fatal Falls has not been revealed.

Further, Evil Empire and Motion Twin announced that Dead Cells has sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide. The team also unveiled a new set of screenshots for the Fatal Falls DLC.
