Ever since the PS5 was announced, we knew it was going to be large. However, I didn't think it was going to be this large. Thanks to some hardware measurements from Taiwan's National Communications Commission (NCC), we now have some close-up images that show how big the console really is.

The PS5 is going to be the biggest console in modern history. Yes, bigger than the OG Xbox One. Bigger than the OG Xbox with the Duke controller. Bigger than the launch PS3. Sony did release the dimensions of the console during the PS5 event last week, though the show didn't include measurements for the base.

As noted by The Verge, it is going to be a hassle for some to fit the new console from Sony inside of their entertainment centers. I know that I am going to have some trouble. This also goes for the Xbox Series X since both consoles were designed to primarily stand vertically. Though you can put them on their sides, they might just a little funny.

The PS5 is set to release on November 12 for $499 while the PS5 Digital Edition will cost $399. If you were not able to secure a pre-order, make sure to keep checking major retailers because the orders keep going in and out of stock for the last few days. If you are looking for the Digital Edition, make sure to be on your A-game because it looks like retailers have a much smaller stock compared to the PS5 with a disk drive.
