Real Madrid have unveiled Rodrygo at the Bernabeu with the teenager added to their list of impressive new recruits in this summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old forward arrived from Santos this month for a fee of £40million, which was agreed between the two clubs last year.

He joins Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, Luca Zidane, and Eden Hazard on the list of new signings ready for next season.

'I have talked about playing for Real Madrid forever, but if I have to go down to Castilla then I do not have a problem either - I have to be humble,' Rodrygo said, according to Marca.

Real Madrid Castilla is the reserve team playing in the Segunda Division B, the third tier of Spanish football.

His fee is a lot to spend on a reserve player, but the youngster will be competing with the likes of Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, Luka Jovic, and Eden Hazard for a spot in the team's attack.

'[Hazard] is a player that I always followed,' said Rodrygo. 'I had him in the lock screen of my mobile. And now I will be able to play with him! And with Benzema and Vinicius, who are two phenomenons.'

Rodrygo also joked that he expected fewer people to turn up to his unveiling than Eden Hazard's.

The former Chelsea man attracted 50,000 people to the Bernabeu last week, which is more people than showed up to four of Real Madrid's home games last season.

Rodrygo scored eight goals in 35 matches in 2018, and also appeared for the Brazil Under-20s team.

Even though Real Madrid have spent over £300m so far this summer, they are also eyeing up a move for Manchester United's Paul Pogba.
