Not that I know anything about canine transport but why would anyone have 25 dogs in a van in the first place? Sounds like puppy mill shady business and the robber knew what they were stealing

My neighborhood recently had a truck get stolen with someone's dog in it.  Three days later someone reported seeing the vehicle, the cops responded, the (career criminal, for the record) car thief tried to escape by ramming the cop cars with the stolen vehicle, so the cops rewarded him with a bunch of new bullet sized holes in his spleen.  He's dead.  Dog was recovered just fine and healthy.

Everyone is glad for the dog.

Not obscure. Or relevant, based on my memory of having seen that movie about 10x. In no part is he particularly interested in dags, aside from betting on them farking hares.

Good point. This may have been a humane rescue.

My wife drives a van for an animal shelter. They have two locations, one of which is their primary intake facility (they take in a lot of dogs from kill shelters). Once the dogs are checked in, checked out and medically cleared, they are driven to the other location for adoption.

Looks like this was a similar situation.

I saw the story on the TV news. I hope the dogs are all OK.

If three are have been re-homed (sold/whatever) in just a few of hours, the thief shouldn't be arrested, they should be hired.

That's a better result than most shelters are able to achieve.

Just-paroled Army Rover K-9 Poe is headed back to his handler, and must fly home aboard a prison transport flight dubbed "Jailbird" with some of the worst criminals including Diamond Dog, Cyrus "The Ankle Ripper" Yo Quero, and Baby Dog.

Or not. A similar incident happened near me that was just some meth junkie wanting to pawn the dogs for cash, but was later shot and killed after firing at officers during a police chase in a stolen vehicle during a later incident.
Dognapper takes forever nap.

Not everything is a rescue. Or humane.

Nah, companies like these operate for a variety of reasons. They move show dogs, competition dogs, dogs for people who are moving, etc. They essentially operate like... Erm. Greyhound. For dogs.
