Given that these are A) elderly B) Floridians C) in a trailer park for the elderly, I'm guessing the argument was over which guns to use to hunt libs if they impeach their president.  She wanted the personal touch with a simple handgun, but he wanted the mass casualties only an AR-45 can bring.

You're thinking of an AR-47.  It has a completely different clip.

I'm willing to be that since this is a Florida trailer park the argument was over whether all Democrats should be executed or just the ones on the impeachment hearings.

I was thinking this, too, though after seeing a picture of the perpetrator, I'm willing to bet that he just got tired after shoving her and had to sit down before he passed out.

They're going to Merrick Garland that process by not handing the impeachment over to the Senate for the conviction phase. When impeached by the House, Trump IS impeached, just as Johnson and Clinton were impeached. (Nixon was not impeached because he resigned prior to the impeachment process occurred in the House.) Then, the House will go to the next item to impeach the president for. Then, they'll impeach him for that (probably the emoluments). Then, when the tax forms are revealed, he'll be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors. And none of them will to the Senate until just about mid-September or early October.

The target isn't Trump, but the Senate. Hit the GOP there.

If I was an intelligent Republican (do such things exist?), I'd vote for impeachment in the hopes that Mike Pence would take over and perhaps have a good chance of being elected in 2020.  It would give all the Republicans who are actually sick of Trump and yet tout the party line a chance to escape.

Exactly. The Republicans are in a pickle. They can either flip on El Presidumbo and kick his ass out of office, which they believe will hurt them with their voter base, or they can support him in the face of obvious crimes-- basically looking the other way and shirking their duty to this nation-- and lose any moderates they were counting on to get re-elected.

It all comes down to what they think will get them re-elected, though, because not a one of them is in office because they actually give a fuuuuuuuuuuugggg about this country or the Constitution that serves as the foundation of our government. If Republicans cared about this country, then every red seat would vote in favor of impeachment... And we all know that's not gonna happen.

There are most self-serving snakes in the Republican Senate than there were in the Well Of Souls.

I think the common wisdom that Rs senators voting against impeachment will save them in the 2020 election may prove wrong at least in some locales.  If things take a real nosedive like in only Trumpworld it certainly will they could lose their seats if they chose not vote for impeachment as a deciding factor.

67% to impeach? Almost no chance. But I would laugh my ass off if they get over 50%!!!

/A simple majority of Senators voting to impeach should be a huge warning to the GOP about their 2020 chances.
