Just what the world needs now: a new way to spend what little money there is left on boomers, before we accidentally invest in some other generation!

I knew what the article was about from the headline. On Fark that means something. Well done, oldmitter.

They're strengthening their bodies and coordination so they can mug people after all the Social Security money is gone!

It is called the mall before the stores open. The olds are doing laps and the getting a discounted coffee.

It is climate controlled and all theirs.

Honestly, although I would still much rather build new or renovate decrepit playgrounds for young children who might actually enjoy them, if they DID build these, the drinking teenagers and vagrants would probably migrate away from where my little one plays. Could be worth it.

I've always understood that some people are angry and selfish tightwads. But I've never understood why they insist on harming their own interests that they can remain so and stick it to someone. Anyone can use the parks, everyone will be old one day and healthy and happy elderly require less medical and psych. care that their families and taxpayers don't have to pay as much. (Assuming of course that they aren't playing football, tag and such at the parks that they do a lot of falling and breaking hips and they don't become a blight with the old folks selling each other pain killers, playing their phonographs too loudly or having perpetual garage sales at the parks instead of their homes.)

Meh, keeps them off the street where they'll just be passing bad laws, filing bankruptcy to escape responsibility, and leading hostile corporate takeovers.

Truly, the boomers are the first generation in the history of mankind in any culture to have any predatory/selfish/shortsighted members.  Your amazing grasp on history is only equaled by your amazing grasp of economics.

Nah. We won't last that long as a species. That's why I'm doing all my polluting now.

And the mothers with strollers. Saw a coven of them a few weeks ago. They were facing each other and had pushed the strollers into a circle shape. I'm pretty sure I heard chanting.

We've had these up in my Canadian town for years. Never seen them used. My 4yo boy likes to play on them, but is too short to do much of anything with them.

There's an awesome kids playground nearby, so whatever.

Umm... you skipped the Original Billionaires of the Guilded Age where "breaking a strike" involved having the State Police shoot live ammo into the crowds

I don't know. We're pretty tough. We grew up with this:

On asphalt. With a 4 foot chain link fence beside it that one kid actually flew over. He was legendary. RIP Brad Finley. (Not from that incident).
