The Funniest Kristen Wiig Moments and Characters for the Comedy Hall of Fame

Kristen Wiig is a comedy terminator. From her legendary turns on Saturday Night Live and in Bridesmaids to lesser-known, yet still killer roles such as Jennifer “Trouble” Gladwell on Bored to Death, she annihilates every funny opportunity that comes her way. Hell, she even made parts of Wonder Woman 1984 halfway watchable. And so, today, we’re inducting 15 of her most hilarious characters into the Comedy Hall of Fame.

Patty Hearst, ‘Drunk History’

Natasha Leggero’s drunk narration of the Patty Hearst kidnapping is excellent, but Wiig’s dramatization is much more than just a beret and a machine gun.

Peg the Target Lady, ‘Saturday Night Live’

“Hey, uh, you know what fertilizer is, right? It’s part dirt and part feces.”

Annie, ‘Bridesmaids’

Aunt Linda, ‘Saturday Night Live’

“The only thing I liked about this movie is that I got to see a real-life Pegasus.”

Gathy, ‘Portlandia’

“I used to watch Pink play on a crappy little wooden plank outside of a gas station. It was just her.”

Vicki St. Elmo, ‘MacGruber’

Vicki and MacGruber do the Cyrano de Bergerac thing to great effect.

‘A Deadly Adoption’

One of the most meta parodies ever made. It’s a spoof of generic Lifetime domestic thrillers, but it’s played so straight that it’s indistinguishable from the real deal, and even debuted on the Lifetime Network.

Judy Grimes, ‘Saturday Night Live’

Judy’s nervous and “just kidding” — about everything.

Agent Lucy Wilde, ‘Despicable Me 2’

“Lipstick taser!”

‘The Spoils of Babylon’

This clip would undoubtedly trigger Chris Rock.

Red Flag Perfume, ‘Saturday Night Live’

“She’s gorgeous. Wealthy. A free spirit. And her ex-boyfriend was a club promoter.”

Ruffnut, ‘How to Train Your Dragon’

“Do you have any clams? They’re like little mouths with slimy food inside that’s already chewed like the way mom used to do it.”

Pamela, ‘The Last Man on Earth’

While flying a drone from her bunker past a billboard: “Well, well, well, if it isn’t news anchor Lester Holt. Yum, yum.”

Star, ‘Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar’

A truly bizarre piece of absurdist comedic genius, Star’s gonna take that cute cell phone case home and glue it to her landline.

Dooneese, ‘Saturday Night Live’

For our money, Wiig’s best SNL character: The snaggle–toothed, tiny-handed, big-foreheaded, awkwardly creepy member of the Maharelle Sisters on The Lawrence Welk Show.
