Singer Louise Redknapp has been ordered to appear in court to face charges of running a red light in her £46,000 Land Rover.

The 44-year-old was charged after the incident in Wandsworth, south-west London on the morning of November 2.

Lawyers for Redknapp appeared at Willesden Magistrates' Court as part of a single justice procedure notice.

But the case was adjourned after it was ruled the pop star must appear before court in person, where she will also face a charge of failing to give details of the driver.

It was heard that the two-litre diesel Land Rover Evoque was 'driven against the indication given by the red signal after 1.4 seconds'.

A court official said: 'She is alleged to have failed to comply with the indication given by a traffic signal.

'She is also said to have failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a Land Rover.'

According to the charges, at 9.34am on November 2 she went through a red light in her Land Rover on the A3205 Swandon Way in Wandsworth.

Then on December 10 at her home in Oxshott, Surrey she is accused of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a Land Rover allegedly guilty of an offence.

The case was adjourned for a court hearing later this year.

A court official said: 'It was adjourned as it needs a full hearing - I can't say exactly why, it's not on the system.

'She wasn't here personally, the hearing was attended by her lawyers. It could be that she pleaded, although that is not on our system right now.

'The information that came out in court was such that they need to have her appear. She has been summoned to attend a full hearing. It is a possible trial.'
