On Nov 5 there was a sudden unusual betting spike interest of bettors coming to bet off Derrick Minner vs Shayilan Nuerdanbieke on Nov 5.

An Unusual number of bets were betting on the (2.5) line.

Ontario regulator bans UFC wagering over compliance concerns, with unsual betting spike interest on nov 5.

Multiple sportsbooks reported receiving unusual betting interest on Neurdanbieke winning by knockout in the first round and for the fight to last fewer than 2.5 rounds, explains ESPN. The odds on the fight moved dramatically in the hours leading up to the featherweight bout in Las Vegas, with Neurdanbieke moving from a -220 favorite to a -420 favorite.

I think we all already knew that.

Fixing and making a smart bet based on inside info aren't the same thing. Not saying it is OK but this is more about the books being protected not the public.

by same thing I meant the betting lines going crazy at the last minute, not accusing Minner or Krause of throwing the fight.

Fair enough. Kind of BS over reaction here in Ontario. Taking all MMA betting off the books over this is a black mark on the sport and undeserved.

I think Coleman threw that fight in Pride. I mean he just gave him his leg.

It was fight fixing. Minner threw the fight and they all knew about it. That's why all those large bets were made. It was dumb because they should have known a fight like that with a relatively no name getting large bets would trigger alarms with sports books. Especially one hour before the fight. Huge bets on the no namers on the cards will always trigger alarms. Big money goes into the big fights, not the Derrick Minner type fights.

Yeah it's an over reaction, they should just focus on Krause, Minner and Krause's gym and suspend any bets with them involved. Since UFC cut ties with Krause and his whole gym already it isn't an issue anymore. I'm sure they'll come to that conclusion afterwards.

It was pretty much a fix.

Minner went in with a known bum knee. His coach, James Krause, informs people about this, and Minner's opponent, ShaYilan, gets a ton of last minute bets to win in round 1. Minner's first strike of the fight HE THROWS A BODY KICK WITH HIS INJURED LEG, winces, AND THROWS THE SAME KICK AGAIN, falls back, and gets pounded out.

It was awful.

He was sent out to lose, and Krause his insiders tried to capitalize on it.

Real greasy shit
