News The PFL's 2nd and 3rd 2022 Play-Off events will take place in Cardiff and London this August.

Didn't they hold an event in a high school gym like last season?

Is Loughnane big enough draw to make an event in London? Do they have a Welsh fighter in their roster?

PFL really needs to find their own niche at this point. Bellator pretty much has western-ish Europe/UK/Ireland on lockdown when UFC isn’t there. Maybe they could try putting roots down in Eastern Europe or maybe even South America. I just don’t see them having much success in places where Bellator has already established themselves.

We'll watch any fighting in England. Nobody specifically gives a fuck about Bellator.

Let’s be real, they’re banking on Simeon being the real deal and pulling in numbers aren’t they. Can’t blame them.

Meh. It’s not really about “giving a fuck” it’s more of “I’m not gonna pay to go and watch 5 mma events a year” if UFC and Bellator both go twice a year already and there’s a solid amount of cage warrior shows. It’s more about over-saturating an already packed market.

Cage Warriors events are usually sold out too, boxing cards sell out most weekends. We just like fighting. I think they should manage to get decent attendances.

If the tickets are reasonable I might even go to the Cardiff one.

So if I’m understanding this right, they are not allowed in England and are going anyway? Who are the other investors?
Yes…. This comes since the days of the split between ownerships of WSOF … some of the minority owners of WSOF/PFL own the international licensing from the company and have not been paid from the WSOF/PFL sale.. they have been in courts for a while .. but now PFL going internacional without owning the rights is serious dilema between the groups and will end up in the legal system for sure

This will not go well. They dont even have any english fighters that Im aware of. I wish they were coming back to Los Angeles/Long Beach. The stands were pretty empty though.

Ahhh that makes sense, thanks for the clarification brother. Do you think they will be able to proceed with the events? Had no idea WSOF was still operating with the minority owners. Thought it was completely dead. This just sounds like a terrible idea for PFL. I don’t think they’re targeting the right area, and they don’t have enough local fighters for the region. Looks like it’ll be dead in the water. I know they are trying to gain ground on Bellator but they should’ve taken notes and looked at how Bellator co-promoted with BAMMA and eventually absorbed them and their staff and now have a local team in hand in Europe.

They've got Brendan Loughnane , Stuart Austin and Simeon Powell.

Have no idea brother .. I think it’s going to depend on the ruling of the courts.. not a smart idea to enter a market dominated by other companies already… PFL is a notorious burning money machine without a north… PPV ‘s they have come to the point of not making much sense

I think that is exactly the point. How much can they draw with them?

They haven't gone for huge arenas, I think they should be able to shift most of the tickets for where they've booked.

They went for a pretty small arena in Long Beach and sold about 1/3 of the stadium. Ive been to LFA cards with bigger crowds. It was pretty sad but I think that was their first season, not that I expect this to be any better.
