Did Conor figure that if he offered to give Dustins charity half a million, that subconsciously Dustin would go easier on him during the fight?

Conor has always appeared to believe and buy into in a lot of mysticism throughout his career.

Can anyone else see him coming up with the offer as a way of mildly distracting Dustin in the hope the fight would not be as hard? Because if someone offers to give your charity half a million, you might see that person in a different light and not wish undue harm upon them.

Could it all have been a tactic?

My theory is that Conor publicly refused to pay 500k, because in reality he paid 1kk but made them sign NDA

I doubt it, 'its only business'.

Maybe...

Not that far-fetched. Even if Conor wasn't that conscious in doing it...
He is clearly a huge manipulator and mind games are of course a huge part of his success.

Maybe, or he's just a greedy bastard like most people with that much money.

it's possible. i don't know what cerrone got, but it could be a similar scheme, but more indirect, like, i donate 500k, wink wink...

Conor once again letting his mouth write checks he can't cash. He opened his mouth to Floyd, destroyed. He opened his mouth to Nate (1st fight) destroyed. He opened his mouth to Khabib, sole taken. He opened his mouth to Dustin, KO'ed. What next? I hear Conor is going up to 170 to take on Usman... or Maybe Conor wants to cut weight to take the 145 again..... He is done, like a steak left on the grill for an hour... DONE

Why would Connor feel the need to make a man he already beat in 90 seconds go easy on him? If he was guilty of anything it was overconfidence and thinking he could prepare for Dustin and Manny simultainously.

No, if I remember correctly, the UFC did not really want Conor to fight at that time. Dustin and Conor then thought of doing an exhibition fight. That's what this all started

You could also say Conor opened his mouth to Aldo, Alvarez, Diaz II etc?
