Hawaii is often just like this when you are in a typical group of people with all different backgrounds, jokes at each other or self deprecating ones and it's all laughs. It's odd though, every so often some white transplant goes full Karen because the concept of being the butt of an ethnic joke is so foreign to them or they heard that 'haole' is like the n word.
That's great. I did so as well. I took lawn mowing and dish washing jokes like a champ. When it's in good fun most jokes are fun.
