Dengeki Online announced it will cease the publication of Dengeki PlayStation after 25 years. Both digitally and physically. Dengeki PlayStation vol. 686, releasing on March 28, 2020, will be the final issue to release.

Dengeki Online explained that since Dengeki PlayStation magazine's launch in 1994, it has been supported by many fans in 25 years. However, the media industry and the way game information is shared have changed. Moreover, nowadays Dengeki Online regularly shares PlayStation related content via extremely frequent streams named Dengeki PS Live. As such, Dengeki Online decided to stop Dengeki PlayStation magazine's publication. Dengeki Online is considering in the future releasing mooks, extra editions and the like of Dengeki PlayStation magazine, publishing issues irregularly. The articles on the Dengeki PlayStation site will keep going as usual.

Dengeki Online has two main games focused magazines, Dengeki PlayStation focusing on games releasing on PlayStation platforms, and Dengeki Nintendo focusing on games for Nintendo platforms. Dengeki Nintendo will continue its monthly releases as usual.

Dengeki PlayStation, being a monthly magazine, often covers events and information released weeks prior, but with great detail. Most of the time though, Dengeki PlayStation includes the same information and press releases as the Famitsu magazine of its release week, except how it only lists PlayStation consoles when detailing a game's release. It's also important to note certain companies like Falcom, who nowadays primarily release their games on PlayStation 4, often give out exclusive interviews and information through Dengeki PlayStation magazine. This means Falcom will now regularly publish these via the Dengeki PS Live streams, as it already happened a few weeks ago when Hajimari no Kiseki was announced. The Dengeki PS Live back then included an interview with Toshihiro Kondo that we translated. While this is sad news from a cultural standpoint, it's not like the DengekiPS staff and its expertise is going anywhere. We wish them all the best in the future.
