The new PlayStation 5 game from Sumo Digital Newcastle has a very Medieval aesthetic.

Sony unveiled two new PlayStation 5 games during its State of Play livestream, one of which is called Hood: Outlaws and Legends. The name seems to imply it takes inspiration from Robin Hood. Its thievery-focused gameplay does, as well.

Hood is a third-person stealth-action 4v4 cooperative game set in a Medieval-looking world. You and three other players, assuming the role of Outlaws, are tasked with stealing treasure from an oppressive government known as The State. In this PvPvE game, two teams of four attempt to outwit each other and the AI guards patrolling the goods. It will require teamwork, coordination, and tactics to escape unscathed with the treasure in tow. You can check out the reveal trailer below.

Developed by Sumo Digital's Newcastle division, Hood: Outlaws and Legends looks to have a lot in common with Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, from its third-person perspective and art design to its heavy emphasis on cooperative play. According to game director Andrew Willans, more information on Hood will "come soon."

The game will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021.
