Jose Mourinho congratulated Frank Lampard on the birth of his daughter in a phone call, but any pre-match talk about Derby's trip to Manchester United was off the agenda.
The United manager retains a close relationship with Lampard after their success together at Chelsea and picked up the phone after wife Christine gave birth to Patricia Charlotte.
There was no discussion of Tuesday night's Carabao Cup tie at Old Trafford, however. 'It was all family related, I appreciated that,' said Lampard.

'We spoke about the fact I have three daughters. We didn't touch on the game. We're keeping our cards close to our chests!' Lampard challenged his in-form Derby side to rise to the challenge of performing against United in front of the TV cameras.
'I love it, it's a great draw, the Jose link brings an edge to the game,' added Lampard. 'I'll be pleased to see him as well because of the relationship we have.
'He sent me a message when I got this job, wished me well. We had a couple of conversations about players in pre-season. I appreciate the support.
'It's a great test for me. I just want us to go there and compete. It would be a nice finish to the week to get a good result.

'The most important thing is mentality – we have to respect them but we can't wait for them to do something special. We have to perform and the make most of the opportunity with cameras and eyes on us.'
Lampard will let his former boss choose the post-match wine. "It's the host to decide isn't it?" I'll leave the wine selection to him. I'm not too fussed. Cheap and cheerful is fine. I'm sure it won't be that!'
