‘UFO’ — a new installation designed by vincent leroy — floats in the air continuing the artist’s research on inflatable objects in movement and levitation. this time, he hangs a non-geometrical shape which seems to evolve freely and naturally giving a shape to the air.

leroy approaches UFO as a weightless substance as if the object was a drop of water in the outer space, alluding to the universe of spacecrafts and satellites. being stretchable and supple, transforming the space with its mirror surface, the installation’s movement has no beginning and no end.

‘slow motion is the starting point of this idea, as well as soft viscosity and extensibility,’ explains the artist. ‘something that we do not see with the naked eye. I leave the spectator in the wait and the pondering. the color is soft, fluid and difficult to get, seems essential. it conjugates with the shine, imperceptible and deep.’

UFO is accompanied with a special soundtrack composed by french sound designer jérôme echenoz. the sound is broadcasted from four different directions and moves at the same speed with the installation.
