To be fair, he's no ordinary 12-year-old. He's a most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered 12-year-old you ever set eyes on. I mean, that 12-year-old's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer! He'll do you up a treat.

So glad they took the time to include unimportant details like why he was arrested, whether or not he was charged, and what with.
Also noticed no Miranda rights so all his blabbing is worthless in Court

If the last couple of days around here are any indication, it's directly proportional to however many aren't busy with something else at the time.

/Got stuck behind a minor fender-bender yesterday that drew out two fire trucks, and ambulance and four cruisers that came screaming down the road with horns honking and sirens blazing like it was Bonnie and farking Clyde.

I got you dawg, inciting event was (maybe) asking for money, charges are resisting arrest and battery (spitting). God knows if my dumb white ass acted in such a way at 17 in Sacramento, I would have gotten the same treatment, but that's totally a hypothetical and I guess we'll never know what would have happened if I did that *looks wistfully off into the distance*

Assaulting a police officer is (spitting on them).

The cops F'd up by continuing to call him Bud and Dude. He's obviously well versed in street lingo and  bullshiat neglecting responsibility (what I do? What I do? Take this bag off my head, Bo!)

They also F'd up by letting the First Amendment warriors interfere with a police investigation (Hey, you can't do that! His parents need to be here!).

He will be a drain on the criminal justice system for the rest of his life. Hopefully, he gets lock up before he takes a life.

Panhandling and having people buy shiat for him in the Walgreens (so trespassing maybe?), although based on the video one would think the ensuing disorderly conduct and assault (for hocking a loogie on a cop) will be what he's charged with.

Ours are nine and eleven; they aren't quite that far down that end of the spectrum but I worry sometimes when I'm away and my wife is home alone with them. It's more along the lines of extreme panic attacks than aggression, so hoping it doesn't go any further. Good luck to you all; hope things get better.

when i watched the video earlier i want to say one of the cops at the beginning mentions he was hanging around the business and they said he was trespassing by being there. Which if no one ever told him to leave would be BS.

If this kid was white, the rent-a-cop would never have noticed him in the first place, much less chased him.

The cops charged him with resisting arrest and no other crime. If the kid were white, and the cops somehow got involved, they'd just call his parents to come pick him up and that would have been the end of it.

no where in my post did i say any of what they did was necessary. I was just trying to answer the question of why THEY were cuffing him as asked by the poster

I dont even think the kid broke any laws until the spitting and ultimately the cops caused that situation.

sounds like the worst thing the kid might have been doing was loitering.

Early in the video, the officer (not the woman) started to tell one of the people off mic why they were stopping him and the 12 year old started yelling "no, you were chasing me". Best I could hear, it had something to do with the 12 year old doing something with customers at another store. I think I heard something about trespassing(?) so maybe it was the store that called the police and when they tried to talk to the 12 year old, he took off running?

Not excusing, condoning or condemning anything, just answering that part of the question.
