It's not the Rapture yet, but consider this: every day brings us closer to the End of Times.  So while many people have incorrectly predicted Armageddon in the past, each new prediction has a greater and greater chance of being true due to the finite number of days allotted until Christ's return.

Psychiatric evaluation most likely.  Either she is traumatized by all this, or she needs de-programming.

Religion is a helluva drug...and it's not one that'll show up on a tox screen.

Anybody do a study on all those people who thought Judgement Day was at hand and behaved accordingly?

How does one cope when the world doesn't end on schedule and there WILL be a tomorrow...with all the problems that the Apocalypse was supposed to solve?

Except... None will know when Jesus returns. So as long as someone thinks a certain day is the day Jesus returns, it is impossible for that to be the day.

That's too long of an expiration date.  How are you going to get repeat customers?

My idea is an End Times asset management company to handle giving away all your money and property for you (for a mere 30% administrative fee).

2018-05-20 8:02:32 AM
Giving away money just before one thinks the world will end is not generosity.  It is like saying I'm generous if I write a will that gives away all my money after I'm dead and can't use it anymore. What it is really  is sucking up to their God who supposed to be able to know that is what they are doing and thus it is stupid sucking up.

Call me when someone thinks the rapture is 50 years away and still gives away everything they have.

I seriously had a coworker do most of that.  I worked with him at Little Caesars, and he was already selling and giving away his things; he took time doing it, instead of one day.  He was originally a pizza driver, but had sold his truck, but kept on to work in the restaurant.  The guy rode his bike from a town over every day.  One day we were enjoying free pizza courtesy of the boss, when suddenly the guy shoved his slice in my ear and said, "This is for my hat."  He eventually got fired for missing work because he wrote his schedule down wrong, and since he got rid of his phone, boss couldn't call him.

Last I heard of the guy, he had gotten a job at a garden nursery much closer to his home, and he stabbed his boss.  Learned that from the newspaper.
