Yeah, I tried that kind of thinking once.

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to scrub off spider droppings? Yes, they do poop, more than you'd realize, and once it sets, it won't go away easily.

I always deport spiders, mainly because there's not much for them to eat inside my home, and the cats will go after them. They'll have a much better and longer life outside.

I have a decent sized spider-bro down here in my basement.  I put in a subfloor so I think he lives underneath.   Every so often I see him come out.

I figure he's taking care of the bugs for me down here, so I let him be.

I hope he's not a she.

These spiders will create webs where their food source is coming from. So if you see a spider on its web, it's even more of an inclination to leave that spider alone. They set up camp based on where the bugs are, so they will be getting rid of those bugs for you!

What about the dipshiat who built a web in between  my window and my screen. What bugs do you think you're gonna find in there, genius? That's why you are now a dried up corpse who will be a decoration this coming Halloween since I'm too lazy to go in there and clean you out.

I rarely see any spiders inside, but they are free to live their best life inside, until Mrs SBinRR sees them.  Then I have to transport them to the great outdoors. They do like to hang out in the upper corners of our front porch, and that is appreciated by all of us.

We rehomed a spider last night. my husband was securing the trash and  recycling bins in anticipation of the storm  and he found a spider attached to one of the bins with a web, she'd already caught food in it. So he moved the whole web with the spider on it over to the next bush so at least she still had her meal and  most of her web to rebuild.

If there's ever one inside we don't bother it unless it's dropping from the ceiling or something and then we do our best to get it outside unharmed taking care to not hurt its legs.

However, it has been proven that only about 10 percent of spider bites lead to necrotic skin lesions.

Oh, in that case nevermind.  Why was I ever concerned?

I have a half bathroom where the cat's litter box is. There is a window in the bathroom that isn't well sealed, and these little bugs would come in and chill out in the cat shiat.

Well, a spider moved in and set up camp in that window. No more bugs in the litter box. That spider is a better pet than the actual cat. I always have to remind the housekeeper not to disturb the web.

I have a system:

Wolf and grass spiders get put back outside.  You guys are not house spiders, and I know you're terrified to be in the cellar, I get that.  So stay outside.

Cellar spiders:  these are the idiots that cover everything in straggly, messy webs.  KOS.  You make my job of cleaning much harder than it has to be, and you guys are slobs.

Orb spiders:  you guys make nicer webs, but you aren't going to catch as much as you think inside. Go play in my garden.

That leaves the real cellar spiders--the dolomedes family. They occasionally visit upstairs and are relocated to the basement when that occurs.  They kill almost everything crawling down there, EXCEPT the straggly web cellar spiders, who seem to have a superpower to kill these largish water spiders.

I used to rent a house in Albuquerque. There was a black widow that lived in a web behind my file cabinet. I left her alone and she used to eat the cockroaches that infested the place. Good spider.

As someone who has been playing Grounded since the weekend, I can say for sure, that both Orb and Wolf spiders are terrifying (when they are 3 times your size and they stalk you). I'm not normally scared of spiders and garden variety are quite pretty. But uh... not in the context of Grounded. Spiders in that game will make you paranoid as fark.

Jumping spiders (Salticidae) are the cutest spiders. "Cute for spiders" I mean. I often have them living in my kitchen.

Ever see those crazy looking house centipedes? They also have a huge impact to your home! Here's why you should never kill a house centipede.

I generally don't have a problem with spiders, but house centipedes are a different story.  They're good at hiding, I only see one in my house once or twice a year.  But when I do see one it's nightmare inducing.

That's a Salticus scenicus, the "Zebra Jumper". Been seeing a lot of those around here this year outside. Was neat watching it nom the mosquito. Sent a pic to a friend who was slightly disturbed by it.

Depends. Wolf spiders are fine and useful, but brown recluses and black widows get smashed with impunity.

Also, all 4 of my cats love chasing any bug, so their survival rate varies anyway.

Hell "my" spider is pretty optimistic.  He sets a web between the two posts on my front porch steps ALL THE TIME.  He couldn't possibly eat ALL of me if he catches me, can he? Maybe i'll just let him eat the UPS guy

I love house centipedes, or as I call them "street sweepers". They're so fast!

Got four few types chez moi:
Cellar spiders, with their lovely long legs. Every see one wrap up its prey? Every see one take care of the 2 or so dozen babies as they're hatching?
Hobo spiders (at least I think that's what they are - they make a funnel web). Last check I have two. The other week I flicked an earwig onto the main one's net and it was quite a sight to see the spider rush out and fight the earwig.
Yellow sac spiders. These are the ones that have once or twice descended from the ceiling on me. One time a yellow sac descended from the range hood over a pan of food I was cooking. My hand were full so I just kept blowin on the spider causing it to swing and eventually fall not in the food.
The fourth type I haven't seen this year. Small and tend to hang around all folded-up. In this pose it looks very angular. It seems to be solid red but upon close inspection is covered with brown spots.
