Good and funny way to get people to use their public library!

I see nothing wrong with this.

Discovered the online content of our library during Covid and they transfer to Kindle so it's been a big help.  Public libraries really are awesome.

This is a great way to encourage and advertise curbside lending, and library engagement in general.

With the added bonus that getting curbside helps keep fewer library employees from being laid off.

I hope Curbstomp Larry is available to deal with anyone who shows up without a mask...by giving them a free mask ;-)

I imagine there's substantial overlap in the Venn diagram of folks who burn free masks and folks who burn books.

I'm an avid reader and prefer real books.  I read so much that I can't afford my habit and am *always* picking up and dropping off at the library.  During the pandemic I have been doing the same library Kindle loans. SO EASY.

My local library did open for curbside a while back, but I stuck with digital.  My state is doing quite well, so they're open for pickups and limited browsing/capacity.  Felt so so good to walk into the library this week and pick up a couple books!

I know this is going to sound corny, but it's actually touching to see someone going to that much effort, for once, to promote something that doesn't exist just to make rich people richer.

Libraries are one of the last places in American society where you can spend time and not be expected to pay money for it.

It's reminiscent of the Packhorse Librarians in the 1930s. What's that, you say? More here:  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pack_Horse_Library_Project

Outstanding. Good to see Guy Fieri getting work since all the restaurants are closed.

And I really should work on finishing my current book so I can start that Trebek one.

Been an e-Booker since it's inception but still love the feel, smell and texture of a real honest to goodness tome. Wife refuses to read from a tablet and absolutely Consumes paperbacks, bends the spines, folds pages and leaves them on the patio table for the squirrels and humidity to destroy. My actual books remain pristine, and those I dont donate after reading are lovingly displayed on shelves for the inevitable re- read in some unknown future.
I'm sure there's a statistical correlation between reading and ones political leanings, so publically funded libraries will surely soon disappear.
Take advantage now before your government decides books make good fuel for helicopters and drones.
