11 Random Facts You Probably Didn't Know About Snoop Dogg

Snoop cried when he watched Coach Snoop just like we all did.

For those unfamiliar with who Snoop Dogg is (I highly doubt there is anyone) he is a rapper, songwriter, father, actor, coach, television personality, and cannabis connoisseur.

BuzzFeed had the opportunity to catch up with Snoop at the Popchips Nutter Puffs launch party and find out some random tidbits you probably didn’t know about him:

    1. Snoop coached football for 15 years straight. The Netflix series of Coach Snoop was about his last year. At the moment he is retired, but there might be a reunion show in the works.

    2. Although he might not be hands-on with coaching as he once was he plans on starting another Youth Football League, but for kids with special needs.

    3. He cried when he watched Coach Snoop because "It was personal...these kids mean the world to me."

    4. Hardcore fans might be surprised to know that when he's not listening to Hip-Hop, he's liable to turn on Lionel Richie's, "All Night Long," Journey's, "Don't Stop Believin'," and even Nancy Sinatra's, "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'."

    5. He initially didn't want a DJ when he first started rapping.

    6. He's only been DJ'ing for seven years.

    7. It took Snoop five years to lay his verse on "Let Us Begin" after hearing KRS-One's verse because Snoop didn't feel what he wrote at first was up to par. Snoop told BuzzFeed, "I was like, 'Damn I can't put that out' (yet) because he was too hard."

    8. He tends to go the healthy route when he has the munchies. He enjoys grapes, sliced apples, strawberries, peanuts, pistachios, Peanut M&Ms, and now Popchips Nutter Puffs. Basically, "anything nut based 'cause I'm nutty."

    9. He released his album Neva Left in 2017 to "get it (gangsta rap) out of his system."

    10. The current landscape of Hip-Hop and "the world we're living in right now" inspired Snoop to make his latest album Bible Of Love.

    11. Finally, even Daz Dillinger's mom as well as his cousin Daz himself, made an appearance on Snoop's album, "We were both raised in the church."
