The next season of Narcos is getting a complete revamp, closing the book on its three-season exploration of the Medellín cartel and the law-enforcement officers who struggled to bring it down and moving on to a new drug lord in a new country, with its own share of government agents who might be in too deep.

According to Deadline, the new season/reboot will be called Narcos: Mexico and will chronicle the rise of the Guadalajara cartel as led by Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, the man who unified a number of Mexico's independent and barely organized underworld of drug suppliers and dealers in the 1980s. Like past seasons of Narcos, it promises to be a sprawling, complex story that chronicles another important, messy chapter in the start of the modern drug war.

However, what you'll notice most are the new faces Narcos: Mexico will bring with it. With the shift away from Colombia to Mexico, Pedro Pascal's Javier Peña is nowhere to be seen. Instead, we'll be following Kiki Camarena, an undercover DEA agent embedded in the Guadalajara cartel, to be played by Michael Peña. Opposite him will be the kingpin himself, Félix Gallardo, played by Diego Luna. Both are terrific choices that will be fascinating to watch—Peña's biggest role so far this year was as the scene-stealer Luis in Ant-Man and the Wasp, and seeing him delve deep into the criminal underworld will be a nice change of pace. Furthermore, Diego Luna, noted Jabba the Hutt fan, has largely kept a low profile since his starring role in Rogue One, and his pivot from hero to criminal mastermind will no doubt be chilling to watch.

No release date has been announced for Narcos: Mexico, but prior seasons of the show have all dropped roughly around the very end of August or start of September, so perhaps it won't be long before the new season is ready for your streaming pleasure.
