Gears of War Extended Universe Showcased at San Diego Comic-Con

This weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Gears of War fans got a deep look to the game’s lore. It all began with Gears of War: Extended Universe panel which featuring developers behind the games, books, novels, and comics of the much beloved Gears universe.

Moderated by The Coalition’s Bonnie Jean Mah, panelists Rod Fergusson (Studio Head, The Coalition), Arthur Gies (Writer, Gears of War: Retrospective), Jason M. Hough (Writer, Gears of War: Ascendance), Chase Marotz (Editor, IDW Publishing), and Steve Saffel (Senior Acquisitions Editor, Titan Publishing) detailed the development of the Gears story through their past and present titles, and discussed the brand new content that’s coming fans’ way over the next couple months.

In addition to the panel, Gears of War merchandise and books were showcased throughout San Diego Comic-Con.

Gears of War: Ascendance

Set directly after the events of Gears of War 4, Gears of War: Ascendance follows the journey [quote wire post from before]. Written by New York Times bestselling author Jason M. Hough, Gears of War: Ascendance made its world debut as a limited amount of advance copies were available for purchase.

Gears of War: Retrospective

Renowned artist Alex Ross created the cover art for the Gears 5 Ultimate Edition Steel Book. In this features Kait Diaz, the main character in Gears 5, stands armed with a Lancer while those who impact and influence her journey in Gears 5 are heavily featured in the details. The poster was available at Comic-Con and can be purchased on Amazon.
