Just saw it. The story special effects and fight scenes were amazing. Too bad there wont be a sequel

Yeah I heard it was good. Produced by James Cameron and directed by Robert Rodriguez with a $170 million budget. Weird that it completely flew under the radar.

because the premise was interesting, but the execution just wasn't that good.

Wasnt there another movie that was visually similar to it that came out around the same time that sucked even worse? Think people had a bad taste in their mouth from that too. Trying to find the other movie

Edit: Think it was Mortal Engines. That movie left such a bad taste that Alita didnt stand a chance at the box office. They were marketed very similarly.

it wasn't Daredevil (Director's Cut) that's for sure, right @Anung Un Rama

you know what else sucked? the new Hellboy

Yeah they were stupid for even thinking they could top Guillermo Del Toro and Ron Perlman. I really enjoyed the first Hellboy. Such a unique movie.

BTW the other terrible big budget movie I was thinking of was Mortal Engines.

LOL
I 'poo poo'ed' that movie when Dragon made a thread here - it was in theatres for like 7 days

It was actually an awesome movie. Regret not seeing it in the theaters. Totally underrated. I think it will gain a small cult following.

my initial reaction to 'Mortal Engines'

lol

cmon, this looks really fucking stupid. cities on wheels driving around like they're fucking rally cars, avoiding bigger cities who capture them and for what purpose? is this cit-e-mon? you gotta catch them all? all i see is a cgi shitfest that would likely have been better adapted for animation.

It is good. I’m not into all that anime shit, but I watched the movie and really enjoyed it.

Yea I liked it as well. To bad will never get a real ending though.

I loved it and I also like Mortal Engines. I thought I wasnt going to like it but ended up liking it.
