Who in your opinion has the biggest difference between offense and defense in striking?

My vote is for Stipe. The dude has KOd or severely damaged almost anyone hes ever fought. At the same time he has some of the worst defense ive ever seen. His head movement is almost non existant and he just plods forward eating punches so he can return fire.

Offense rating: 10/10
Defense rating 2/10

Honerable mention to Khabib whos offense on the feet is terrible (besides the one time he rocked Conor) hut has pretty decent defense. Dustin Porier even said he was so awkward he could never get a rhythm.

Offense rating: 2/10
Defense rating: 7/10

Can't accurately judge a lot of Khabib's defense, as he spends most the time on the mat.

Justin gaethje has to be a candidate

Prime Anderson is the epitome of the perfect MMA striker

Darren Till

He's only good on the offensive I think. If he's the one backing up he's likely getting tee'd off on. His chin is all the way up in the air and he was getting tagged quite a bit by Masvidal before the KO

Max Holloway

If you look at numbers only. He was very illusive against Ortega but he still gets hit very often. That Poirier fight was pretty brutal. Even in the Edgar fight he was getting hit by a few handfuls of overhand rights

These aren't massive differences but they are both pretty hittable for being high level strikers

Fun fact: Before this last fight with Cormier, Stipe was actually #1 in the stats for striking defense among active heavyweights. Granted, we're talking heavyweights here so that's not that big an honor. But it's not "some of the worst", either.

You're talking about a "glass cannon", and I can't think of a better example than Overeem. K1 GP champion, getting KTFO by guys like Ben Rothwell and Travis Browne.

Stipe has solid defence and head movement lol. Even good footwork.

Gaethje was pure offence and no defence before but it seems like he has changed his style up dramatically. He hasnt taken almost any damage in his last 3 fights.

Pretty classic MMA fighter syndrome to be honest.

Especially if they have a chin.
