The Ultimate Fighting Championship's first event of 2020 will see the heavily anticipated return of Conor McGregor as he faces off against a fan-favorite in Donald Cerrone, and one fighter has missed weight.

The main event of UFC 246 is as close to guaranteed fireworks as one can expect. McGregor (21-4) hasn't fought since his October 2018 loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, but he'll look to prove that he's still one of the best strikers in mixed martial arts against "Cowboy." Considering the fight is at welterweight, McGregor looked great on the scales and easily weighed in exactly at 170 pounds.

Unlike "Notorious," Cerrone (36-13, 1 NC) never takes much time away from fighting. The Colorado native has had five fights during McGregor's absence from the Octagon. He won the first three of these, including impressive finishes over Mike Perry and Alexander Hernandez, but is currently on a two-fight losing streak after being bested by Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje. "Cowboy" had little trouble making weight and came in at 170 pounds.

The co-main event is an intriguing women's bantamweight bout between former champion Holly Holm and one-time title challenger Raquel Pennington. This is their second meeting as Holm eked out a split decision back at UFC 184. The stock of Pennington (10-7) has been on the rise since that bout as she notched key wins over Jessica Andrade and Miesha Tate with her only losses coming to Amanda Nunes and Germaine de Randamie. Meanwhile, Holm (12-5) has been up and down since their 2015 bout. While she shocked the world with her knockout of Ronda Rousey, she lost her next three fights and hasn’t been able to put two wins together since then.

Most fighters hit their marks at the official weigh-in, but that wasn't the case for Alexa Grasso and Sabina Mazo. Grasso missed the strawweight limit of 116 by 5.5 pounds as she came in weighing 121.5, and Mazo missed weight by a quarter of a pound but returned to make 125.5 pounds. Grasso's bout with Claudia Gadelha has since been cancelled, as the Nevada State Athletic Commission will not allow strawweights to fight when differing by more than three pounds.

The UFC 246 main card will air live on ESPN+ pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. ET. Early prelims will be streamed on ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass starting at 6:30 p.m. ET and will be followed by a two-hour prelim broadcast on ESPN starting at 8 p.m. ET.
