The final month of the year is going to bring with it some fun fights in the UFC.

December kicks off this weekend with Stephen Thompson and Kevin Holland. The two welterweight contenders tangle from the Amway Center in Orlando live on ESPN and ESPN+.

Thompson, a former title challenger in the division, is looking to close out 2022 with a win that springboards him back near the top. After earning victories over Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal, he lost by decision to both Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad in 2021.

However, Thompson is still as dangerous as ever. But so isn’t Holland.

Back in 2020, Holland tied the UFC record with his fifth victory inside of a calendar year. That took him from also-ran to in the running, but a 2-3 record with a no-contest since has him once again looking to cement his status.

The event also features former UFC champion Rafael dos Anjos battling Bryan Barberena, Matheus Nicolau taking on Matt Schnell, Tai Tuivasa facing Sergei Pavlovich and Eryk Anders meeting Kyle Daukaus.

Some of the featured prelims will include Michael Johnson, Angela Hill and Clay Guida.

From there, we will transition into UFC 282 with Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev meeting for the interim light heavyweight title, along with Paddy Pimblett vs. Jared Gordon and Robbie Lawler in action.

The year concludes on December 17 as Jared Cannonier and Sean Strickland meet at UFC Fight Night in a middleweight main event.
