England secured another emphatic Euro 2020 qualifying victory on Monday night by thrashing Montenegro 5-1 in Podgorica.

Despite falling behind to a Marko Vesovic goal, Gareth Southgate's side recovered in some style to firmly put themselves in charge of Group A. 

Sportsmail's CHRIS SUTTON and MARTIN KEOWN watched on and gave their view after another great night for the Three Lions. 

England were in superb form once again and ran out comfortable 5-1 winners in Podgorica

You have to say that Raheem Sterling is now world class.

If you were Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, surely you would want to buy him over Eden Hazard. Is there anything Sterling cannot do? His weight of pass is superb, his movement off the ball is lethal and he has become deadly in front of goal. 

What defender in the world would want to face Sterling in this form? It doesn’t matter if you take him on or back off — either way he will destroy you. He is still just 24 and improving year on year. His wonderful performances for England in the last two games have confirmed that he can thrive on the international stage.

Sterling is one of the hottest properties in world football. If I was Real Madrid, I’d be making him my No1 target.

How much more does Maurizio Sarri need to see from Callum Hudson-Odoi before starting him for Chelsea?

Watching him whip in those dangerous crosses, it was hard to believe he is yet to start a Premier League game. 

Gareth Southgate deserves credit for showing no fear in picking him.

For the first 35 minutes, England’s wingers had little joy. Montenegro set out to bully Callum Hudson-Odoi and Raheem Sterling out of the game. 

With 10 minutes to go before half-time, Gareth Southgate told his wingers to switch flanks and it paid dividends. Hudson-Odoi is more comfortable on the left where he can cut inside on his right foot. 

As his touch map for the first half shows, he had more touches in 10 minutes on the left than in 35 on the right.

Michael Keane would not have been happy with Montenegro’s goal — failing to make an adequate clearance and letting the ball go through him too easily — but what a response from the defender. 

He showed real character to take ownership at that set-piece and equalise with a thumping header.
