Timothy Weah savoured a dream debut goal for Celtic on Saturday and described the atmosphere at a half-full Parkhead as 'insane'.

The teenager, signed on loan from Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season, came off the bench to round off the scoring in Celtic's 3-0 Scottish Cup win over Airdrieonians.

Weah's goal was lapped up by the bulk of the 29,941 crowd and the forward admitted he can't wait to sample the atmosphere of a full stadium.

He said: 'It's probably the best experience I have had, playing in front of those Celtic fans. When I scored, it was like something out of a dream. If this is just the minimum, that's insane. I can't imagine how it is when it's full. It's crazy.'

Weah will be in contention to start when Celtic pick up their Premiership campaign with a home game against St Mirren in midweek and revealed he is expecting his father George, a former world player of the year and the president of Liberia, to attend a match in Glasgow next month.

'I think he should be coming in February, around my birthday,' added Weah. 'I can't wait for him to experience this and see how crazy the fans are and savour the atmosphere when we get a goal.

'It would be good if he is here for the Valencia game, I know the atmosphere will be insane.

'I've had an amazing welcome. And you could see from my celebration that I already love the club.

'It takes away the pressure to get that goal on my debut, I have never done that before.' Also speaking after the match, Weah's manager Brendan Rodgers insisted he remains hopeful that Scott Brown will remain at Celtic, but admits the Parkhead skipper will need to make a decision soon on a rival offer from Australia.

Brown, 33, is out of contract in the summer and is wanted by A-League newcomers Western Melbourne.

The former Scotland midfielder has been mulling over the lucrative opportunity to move his family to the other side of the world and Celtic have given him time to ponder.

After a meeting in midweek, Rodgers reckons the player is close to giving his decision.

'I had a long chat with Scott in the week which obviously will remain private,' said Rodgers. 'He knows at some point fairly soon he'll have to make a decision.

'There has been a lot going on and it is important for him that he finds that stability. He loves it here and has been here for a long time. We've given him time to make the best decision for him and his family.

'He's a really good, influential player. He gives the team good stability when it's needed. This is the first time in a long while he has had to think in relation to his future.

'He's getting to that stage. He's 34 at the end of the season. If he looks after his body well, though, he can still play for another number of years.'

Meanwhile, Celtic confirmed they will take action against the supporter who invaded the pitch at the end of Saturday night's match.

The unnamed individual, who was intercepted by stewards and led away by police, had made a beeline for the area where players and match officials had congregated.
