Here's When No Man's Sky Releases On Xbox One

Hello Games has finally revealed the release date for the space sandbox on Xbox One.

No Man's Sky had a controversial debut on PC and PS4, lacking a ton of the features developer Sean Murray had alluded to in the many months preceding the game's launch. After the backlash, the Hello Games team hunkered down and quietly started adding massive additions to the game for free, improving on the game a great deal and earning it our Shacknews Best Comeback of the Year award in 2017. Now, Xbox One players will be able to get their hands on the more robust version of No Man's Sky when it launches on the console alongside the free Next update, which includes a full multiplayer experience.

Xbox One players are getting quite a treat, despite having to wait a bit longer to play the game. The No Man's Sky that will grace their hard drives is held up by four free and massive updates that have added much to the space sandbox experience. Base building, land vehicles, freighters, and multiplayer alone will provide a great foundation for experiences, but the many quality-of-life additions will make a clean and optimized one as well.

In the video above, which is the first interview from Murray in a couple years, he says the team made a conscious effort to step back and take a year to make No Man's Sky the game they wanted it to be. When Next arrives on July 24, 2018, alongside the Xbox One version, we'll get to see how close it comes to the many ambitious ideas Murray alluded too before the game's initial launch.
