Today Bandai Namco hosted the God Eater 8th Anniversary Thanksgiving Day event at its Future Research Institute venue in Tokyo, and following the reveal of the platforms and a new trailer for God Eater 3, we also get to see the first gameplay.

The footage features a battle against an Aragami named Anubis, and the new weapons in action. The protagonist's weapon can be transformed from twin swords to a two-bladed halberd, and into a laser beam.

You can check out the videos below, alongside the slides showcased at the event, giving more info on the game.

In particular, we learn that an unknown phenomenon called "Ash Area" is destroying all structures it comes into contact with, turning them into Ashes.

The story revolves around a new kind of God Eaters, named Adaptive God Eaters, or AGE for short. The new character accompanying the hero is Hugo Pennyworth, a young man who became an AGE at a young age alongside with the hero himself.

They grew up together, and a new battle mechanic named "engage" enables the two to fight together delivering devastating damage.

At the moment, the game has been announced for PS4 and PC and has no release date. It's still unknown at the moment of this writing whether Bandai Namco will announce more platforms for western regions.
