As one of the early titles revealed for the Xbox One, Below has been a title that many have anticipated from developer Capybara Games, and while the wait for it has seen some delays and setbacks, hopefully 2018 may be the year that finally sheds light on the eagerly-awaited roguelike.

In a report from Engadget, Capybara Games creative director Kris Piotrowski shared a few details on Below, the studio's long-awaited action-adventure roguelike title that was first revealed back in 2013 for Xbox One and PC, but has seen several delays in that time since.

Specifically, Piotrowski addressed the game's expected release window and while he could not provide an exact window or timeframe, he did say that the studio is "aiming for this year" for the game's release on Xbox One and PC. Piotrowski added that at this point, the studio has "all the systems in place," with the team no "going deeper and deeper through the world" and providing additional levels of "final touches" to the game as it nears release.

In addition to Piotrowski's statements about the release, Engadget also confirmed that Below will feature visual enhancements for players on Xbox One X, which will include support for 4K resolution and 60fps framerate.

Below is currently in development for Xbox One and PC.
