Disney+’s Andor reached a new galaxy, as it landed in first place for the very first time in Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart for the week of May 12.
The Star Wars thriller—which jumped up four positions from the previous week and released the final three episodes of its current (second) season—accounted for 931 million viewing minutes. A total of 56% of Andor’s audience originated from the adults 18-through-49 demographic, with 68% of that skewing toward the male audience.
It was a double triumph for Disney+ as it occupied the top two spots in the chart, dethroning Netflix, with children’s series Bluey taking second place, up one spot from the previous week, with 922 million minutes viewed.
No streaming title crossed the 1 billion viewing minutes threshold during the recorded week. The previous week’s champion, Netflix, had four titles in the top 10, two of which had shared distribution rights. The streamer’s presence was led by movie Nonnas, which garnered 848 million viewing minutes, moving from sixth to third place.
According to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, Grey’s Anatomy, which streamed on Hulu and Netflix, landed at No. 4 with 810 million viewing minutes. This was followed by another non-original title, Criminal Minds, which had 787 million minutes viewed between Hulu and Paramount+ to round out the top five titles.
The bottom half comprised Netflix’s You, at No. 6 with 779 million minutes viewed. This was followed by Max’s The Last of Us holding steady in the No. 7 position with 745 million viewing minutes. In eighth place was The Rookie with 696 million viewing minutes on Hulu. The streamer also earned a ninth-place ranking courtesy of season two of unscripted drama The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which had 680 million minutes viewed.
In the final spot was Netflix’s Forever, accounting for 671 million viewing minutes.
